My Twilight Princess Theory

Well, since TP is coming in less than 3 months (2 1/2 months is likely) I thought i would post my timeline theory for Twilight Princess.

-Twilight Princess will take place between Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask and Windwaker, approximately 40 years after OoT

- Twilight princess will explain the happenings of HOW the kingdom was covered in water and turned into a vast ocean.  If you pay attention in Windwaker, the story tells about a great evil rising again and consuming the kingdom in darkness (explaining the Twilight Realm).  However it says that the hero did not return to save them, meaning 1 of 2 possibilities....

a. A hero did come, but it just wasnt the OoT hero

b. nobody came, hyrule was destroyed, the end (to be put rather bluntly)

- Ganondorf is expected to be the villain based on 2 things

a. it has been confirmed that he will make an appearance

b. after watching an interview, Aonuma specifically says that the villain of Twilight Princess revolves around the three pieces of the triforce.  He makes specific mention that Zelda tends to have the wisdom piece, Link has the courage piece, and the ? villain has the power piece.  HOWEVER.....if the villain does obtain the power portion of the triforce, this means that it MUST be ganondorf (or at the very least he will have some part in the game).  Ganondorf states at the end of OoT that he will return to destroy Link and Zelda's descendants (AKA Windwaker), and that as long as he holds the power of the triforce in his hands he will return.  Considering he has the triforce, and he still has it in Windwaker, it is obvious that he will be the main villain in TP.

-  Shiekahs will make some appearance in the game.  if you look on the back of Zelda's robe (a japanese funeral robe to be specific), it has the shiekah symbol

Anybody have any comments for my theory?  I have a lot of spare time on my hands so as you can see i analyzed the Zelda games pretty well

Yes, I can tell that's a good analysation (spelling?). Although I neevr completed the 3D Zelda's, Ganandorf could make an appearance. He's that guy who wanted to blow up the castle in OoT right?mos333

i like your midna theory alot - that could very well be the case....i was also thinking maybe midna was zelda, but i think that is NOT the case at all - as Nintendo has stated midna is something of a character on her own mission (!) So I like your idea alot and buy it sir.

Your timeline however I don't buy...(oh zelda timelines - hawt debates!).. :lol: ..I think TP takes place well after WW. Yes it stated the land was consumed by darkness, so did MC state the very same thing...and it told the story of how the land was saved...I'm thinking this may be the first time a handheld has tied into a console version (could be wrong - wouldn't be suprised)..but my feeling is that TP takes place hundreds of years after WW.

I do think Ganon (Gannon / Gannondorf) will appear...to what extent I am curious though, I wonder if he will be the main villan or if they will have moved onto the idea of something BIGGER than him!

they confirmed it took place between the two? i didn't know that.wickerman2004

oh the rumour mill - i heard the main quest was 60 hours and sides quests added up to 40 hours for a total of 100 hours........man how sweet would that be?!?!?!!?

I just had a thought what if we hold a race to see who can finish TP the fastest.

It will be a fare race becease no one has played this game before so no one will already know how to beat the game.

Also we could probably to log blogs (say that 5 times fast) where we could type down what has happend to you so far in the Zelda game.

To declair yourself the winner you must describe the ending sequence to the game. Like what goes on in the back ground as the credits go up.

Nice theory but how about the villain from 4 swords adventures and minish cap being the villain not that he fits in the story but it would make a nice change

i wouldn't race or read the blogs, i like to take my time and enjoy new games, especially zelda - i see myself just walking around doing nothing but admiring hyrule :lol: it's true. :|

they said this would be the last zelda as we know it ( i believe stated in 2004), but that was before they even started taking it to the Wii, maybe the Wii functionalities were what they were referring to (as in the next zelda would be using that control scheme - but it happens they implemented it now).

i have no idea how they will plan to top this one, it takes alot of resources to program a game like TP, after OoT was completed N stated they would decrease production times because Ocarina took so much effort and resources to create. TP has been the main project at nintendo now for 2+ years, not counting the conceptual stages of it, they said at E3 (R.I.P.) 2004 the game was pretty much finished, but then went back and made the commitment to make ti the best zelda ever...i'm starting to ramble.

I won't race through it - too good to do so...I'm taking my time and enjoying the masterpiece that is about to finally become available.

Theres a game Time line in the LoZD (Legend of Zelda Democracy) Union. There is also a game time line in which me and Rev. Freak made theoriatical guesses on how the games should be in oreder.

zelda timeline really deserves it's own thread - it's so much based on speculation that it can get crazy. i myself don't buy into the whole alternate time thoery, where there are now two links and parallel existances being lived out....
