Yes first off goldeneye was the game of the year in 1997 (or 1998?) Anyway it is one of the best selling N64 games ever and is one of the best FPS on any system. It brought that 4 player screen in multiplayer that all other FPS use.

Goldeneye is a fantastic game and is one of the best Nintendo games ever

^ It's even better than Halo, even now. ;)

This game revolutionized the FPS genre. In fact, it's practically the only game in the FPS genre that I will actually want to play from time to time, unlike others where I play it only because it's there and because I want to pwn my friends. :P

a bit of a fanboy comment there, but you got a point. It's so well done that Halo can't match it, only game I know is better is Perfect Dark on N64.
And yes this game should be in Hall of Fame

I personally loved Perfect Dark and it was the game that actually got me into FPS which I had liked but thanks to Perfect Dark they are on top of my lists nowadays. Given that  Perfect Dark was based on this I bought it and it really is just as good, till today my number 1 all time map for multiplayer was the Temple from both games.:)

All the levels were great from dam to cradle and the secret ones too.

Trying to get the golden gun outta that glass class was hard. Staying on the indicated blocks to make the glass rise. The giant rocket level too that would lead u to moonraker tight tight.

True, but at least it was short and quick. Control Room was by far the hardest. :P

i remember it taking me a long time to figure out statue when you had to unarm yourself. I had no idea what that meant and after i figured it out i would screw up on the last part.My favorite was the ship i dont know why.

Of course it should be in the hall of fame Its a classic and if u use the walk through doors glich on the gameshark its even more fun on multiplayer. Secondly there were a lot more levels to choose from halo only has 12 i think or 10

Yeah the ship level wasn't so bad too, where you had to plant a tracking device on an helicopter.

It's hard to call between Perfect Dark and GE 007, both amazing in their own right; but there's no denying that GoldenEye is a masterpiece that belongs in the Hall of Fame.  It's not like we're pitting it against another game...  although, if we did, I'd probably still vote for GoldenEye... hahaha

I hate FPS's, I mean HATE them and even I enjoyed playing this game.   This game was great, and brought everyone together in one room for some good friendly violent fun.

I'm pretty much the exact same way as you! Goldeneye was wicked, then I just stopped liking them (except Perfect Dark ;)), because of the continuous onslought of them. I'm SO sick of them!

It's because of this that Goldeneye deserves a place in the hall of fame. Anybody, and I mean anybody, could enjoy it, despite any gaming preferences. :)

Well, you'll all be happy to know that Goldeneye has been admitted into the EoNU Nintendo Hall of Fame.  This thread will now be locked.  Check out the new entry to the Hall of Fame.
