I say yes, this game was a definite improvement over the regular Super Smash Bros and has over double the characters, double the arenas...AND DOUBLE THE FUN!
I agree this game deserve to be in hall of fame, it one of the best fighting game on the gamecube not only that but it have all your favorite nintendo characters mario, luigi; link, kirby right down to the mr. game & watch plus it four players so it a must have for anybody who love to play with their friends when they come over your place for some fun and friendly competition
This is definitely an awesome game and should be remembered for all time. Its all around fighting and how many different styles people can play makes this game one of the best I've ever played. Also the wide array of characters keeps the game interesting and the gamer on his/her toes.
I say no, the original has more of a right to be in the HOF then Melee does. the original was so innovative and unique and the second one was just... well... a sequel. It is not that I don't like the game, it is one of my favorites, but I don't think it should be a hall of fame game. :?
i agree it should be in the Hall of Fame because it's the best multiplayer game on GC, maybe of all consoles. It's indeed very fun and who can forget countless matches with your friends and sleepless hours to master each event and challenge. This is a gem like no other!
I say yes, This game can appeal to anyone, as demonstrated by the sales and has some of the best multi-player ever created, it took everything that SSB 64 pioneered and improved on it while maintaining the games initial charm...

I voted yes although I completley agree with Redsnake about it being just a sequel. I havementioned this before but i still play the original and believe me when I say the sequel can't compare gameplay wise simplly cause its just too fast paced and you just have to get hit. Soon enough I'll upload some sort of user video showing myself play 4 level 9 cpu players and how I can go the whole match without being hit once. I'm not bragging but its timing is much more realistic and you can perfect it while SSM just cant cause its way too fast and action packed. I also understand that the majority prefers SSM so thats what counts in a hall of fame.
As much as i would like to say that it does belong in the hall of fame cause it is a great game. I just don't think that it meets my requirements to enter so i vote NO !!
