Well, I guess this really only applies to us noreasters, but the PS3 European launch has been delayed. I witnessed the report on the German news channel this morning, and here's the full document in english:

http://today.reuters.com/news/articleinvesting.aspx?view=CN&storyID=2006-09-07T033343Z_01_T97309_RTRIDST_0_TECH-SONY-UPDATE-2.XML&rpc=66&type=qcna

The german anchorman stated that Sony just laid out the red carpet for Microsoft. :D As for my opinion, Sony has been constantly shooting themselves in the foot with the PS3 and now with this delay... Well they just about slit thier own throat as far as I'm concerned... So much for Europe being known as "Sony Land". Wii60:D

Well I think this can only get better for Microsoft and Nintendo now as they can make their mark in the market and make Sony struggle to get it back even more so if people still have to pay that price for it. I know I will be getting the Wii and the 360 and be enjoying a load of games while the people who are only wanting the PS3 will be waiting. I lost all faith with Sony with the PS2, all the problems that came with it doesn't give a good reputation to the people on what their products are like and I hope more people will be able to see this before they spend a load of moeny on a PS3.

^ Well if the PS3 DID flop, then I'm guessing Sony would clench onto what little market they have remaining to provide hits for the PS2. Since so many people own one.

Yeah I heard about that yesterday. I posted it on one of Revfreak's threads on the PS3 not having an HD cable. Also the US will be limited to 400,000 units on day one. Japan will be limited to 100,000 units on day one. Sony hope to have shipped between 2-2.2million by the end of 2006. Down from the origianl 4 million. 1-1.2 million are headed to the US. The report is on the GameSpot news page. To lazy to link it :P

yeah - you guys always get the shaft. sorry :| but it's ps3...so it's not like it's a big deal - and who didn't see this coming? if you didn't....go get your eyes checked.

the sony super show is the most entertaining thing i've seen the past couple of years - it's chock full of good stuff for entertainment:

arrogance
lies
deciet
manipulation
lots of money
poor people
clowns
motion sickness

i'm loving it. i wonder where i can buy the DVD ( get it? DVD..not BluRay? :| )OH that's right!! episode two is at least available in some E3 2006 DVD...the one where Nintendo pwned everyone so hard they revamped the show!!!!!!!!

Ah, peace at last. You hear that Europeans? No more chavs saying: ''i got meself well good ps3 innit bruv?''. Like Fammicom said, FEAR THE SHEEPS!

But really, this was going to happen anyway, anyone forgot this is Sony we're talking about? And like Miyamoto said after the PS3 could not meet a Spring launch date, ''I was not surprised at all, it's all lies''.

Well the chavs I see are wieghed down in gold! They could just flog some of that for a PS3

I was thinking about this earlier. If it is not going to make it for Christmas how many mums/wives are going to plump £425 in March for a PS3? They are still skint from the stuff they DID buy at Christmas. I wonder if Sony will throw in exclusives for the Europeans like a remote for the blu-ray player to make up for it?

Well to be honest i had predicted a delay for the Ps3 and Wii and seeing that the Wii is still on schedual I am kind of happy that Sony is getting screwed, serves them right for the arrogance consumers have had to put with.  As for Sony falling into the toilets I can't see things going that far but now i think its safe to say that Sony will not lead in this coming generation or not at least for another two years due to the fact that each system is drawing them into deeper debt and with games being priced at 60usd i can't imagine stagarring softwae sales. So in short things lookin good for Wii/360 which is good cause when the market starts to even out the only benefactor is the consumer, since it will produce tougher competition and better products with better prices for us. PS the delay is for the entire PAL region in case anyone is wondering including Europe, Africa and South Western Asia basiclly the Middle East.

and the good thing is it is pretty much a CONFIRMED thing that Wii will launch this year.  Not only do Nintendo reps continually say Q4, but now that we know Nintendo got their CPU's for Wii MONTHS in advance it would be near impossible for a delay to next year

Totally agree on this view. I've said it before a few times on the forums. Sony will give everything in to making an awsome product to get their lead back and Microsoft and Nintendo will also work their socks off to become the new market leaders. This all means amaaaaaazin' consoles and games for us :D
