They are doing great. Both systems are selling out all over the world and have a lot of demand. They are bringing out good games and good features for each system. But the thing they still haven't got is online. I really wish Nintendo would stop using FCs. If there is one thing that will hurt Nintendo is gen it will be their lacking online. bededog
I agree, it's pretty much their only fault. Other than the bad online, I think Nintendo is doing everything right. :)
Ah Nintendo is doing great with the DS. Great quality games one after the others and just recently Pokemon D/P ... that system keeps you entertained for hours a day. Also it has great titles to look for such as Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
The Wii on the other hand ..... BEUIIIRK
Yes the sales are awesome and the system is great, not to mention also the controller. But so far I haven't seen any quality ''Wii'' game except for maybe Super Paper Mario. Note that I do not include Zelda Twilight Princess because for me it is not a Wii game but a Gamecube game.
Plus the graphics so far just sucks big time, nothing visually next-gen came out on the Wii yet and all the recent games just look like garbage (like Spiderman 3 for an instance).
Nintendo would better do something about it and have a talk with the third-party publishers/developpers or I might not get that console at all because so far I do have a Wii at home, which is shaped like a cube.
Maybe you should buy the console before bashing it that much... I agree (for the most part) about the visuals, and to an extent about the quality Wii games... however it isn't as big of a problem as you see it. Some games are quality titles, and others aren't. Every console is like that. SSX Blur is a good title, Wii Sports is a great title, as is Sonic and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz. For being six months into this console's span, that isn't too shabby. I didn't even mention TP or SPM.Ah Nintendo is doing great with the DS. Between the Nintendo DS and Wii, how do you think Nintendo is doing? It has been more than two years since the Nintendo DS launched, and believe it or not it has already been six months since Wii launced. So, in your opinion, how are they holding up? Perhaps there is something that you would like to have seen them do that they didn't?REVOLUTIONfreak
It's doing good...(playing wii and DS at the same time)
The DS is doing great. It's selling well, and since it's been out for two years we've got plenty of great games for it.
The Wii is also selling well ("well" is an understatement), but there aren't nearly the amount of quality games as some of us hoped. If you look back to the DS's first few months, you would find that it was doing much worse than the Wii is, so I'd say Nintendo is in good shape.
Regarding the Wii visuals, saying they look like garbage is nothing but drama. No, they may not compete with the 360 or PS3, but that doesn't mean they're garbage. Twilight Princess is absolutely beautiful, Warioware's comic book graphics were superb, and Super Paper Mario was unique graphically in almost every way. So no they're not revolutionary, but yes, they are fantastic.

I was not bashing the console but bashing the pity development that had been done on it so far. TP is nothing close to a Wii game, it's a Gamecube game with Wii controls tacked on. When speaking of that game, speak of it as a GC title because then you could see it as a great quality game.
On the Wii line-up: my opinion os that there are many, many good games coming. The problem is I that all those games are COMING, and are not allready in the pocket. I only own 4 Wii games; TP, Sonic, Wii Sports/Play. None of them were totally awesome, or not for more then one playthrough.
There are too many games coming in a year or so, which we keep anticipating, to the point where we got so overhyped that the quality game seems like a let-down.
Message to Nintendo: TRANSLATE FASTER!! We need Super Paper Mario and Fire Emblem soon, before this happens.

Well, Super Paper Mario is out already, unless you live somewhere other than North America. :P
Well, Gameboy advance was pretty populair. Too bad the Gamecube suffered from too many Mario spin-offs. (and too little REALLY good games.)MajuraLucky for Nintendo the DS is already more popular than the GBA, having sold around 10 million more units in the same amount of time.
i think the DS is doing GREAT cuz of pokemon and the Wii is doing good cuz of the motion censor but if the Wii doesnt get a good game soon the Wii flame will soon die out...joe-effect10
I can name 3,possibly 7,games that will almost certainly be excellent Wii titles, and their names are:Super Mario Galaxy,Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl,Fire Emblem,Pokemon Battle Revolution,Resident Evil 4, and the new Wii Zelda. The last 4 are the "possibly's".
The DS has absolutely NO competition, and Sony might as well take the PSP off the market. The Wii is equal to the DS.Consider this;in the year and a half the 360 has been out,it has sold 10,000,000 units worldwide. In the SIX MONTHS the Wii has been out,it has sold 5,000,000!!!!!!!At this rate, the Wii will be on top very soon.

Well, actually Nintendo's lead on the PSP isn't as drastic as it is lead to be. The DS is dominating the PSP in worldwide sales for sure, but in the U.S. the DS is barely beating the PSP. Plus, according to Gamespot the PSP is doing just as well as the GBA was in the same amount of time...
As for your comparison between the Wii and 360, that actually was kind of overexaggerated... think about it, if that is the case then Wii will have sold less units in a years time than the 360 did, which means the 360 will still be on top. Of course, I'm always rooting for Nintendo, but unfortunately I don't forsee Wii surpassing the 360 this year unless SMG and SSBB do extremely well and third parties stop ignoring Wii.

I don't see Nintendo's sale of the Wii surpassing the Xbox 360s for awhile. Even if they ever do.

Well actually at the rate that the Wii is being sold now (and if Nintendo could finally get some units in the stores), the Wii has a good chance of surpassing the Xbox 360 in sales. Of course you've got a solid point when you state that it would need popular games like Super Mario Galaxy and MP3.
The PSP is a great system, I'd know that from experience since I own one and I would actually like it if it sold a little more so that the competition becomes more intense. The PSP's big sales number are mostly due to the fact that it bears the name ''Playstation'' on it, but of course the system is well worth the money for the great games and features inside of it. If the competition becomes more intense then Nintendo would have no choice but to release top-notch first party games and that would be a great benefit to us the gamers. Same would go for the Wii if the PS3 sold more.
Both systems (espeacially the Wii) need more 1st party support, great 1st party support and Nintendo has still a looooooooooong way to go for the Wii as far as visuals are concerned.

:lol:MORE first party support? Nintendo gives their consoles more first party support than both Sony and Microsoft combined! I think Nintendo is actually intentionally releasing fewer first party games lately, because third parties tend to stay away from Nintendo consoles since their first party games always sell a lot more than any third party game. However, ever since Nintendo slowed down on releasing first party games in the past few months, we have seen more successful third party games like Red Steel, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, and others.
I definitely think that it is possible for Wii to surpass the 360 in sales this year, but it will be very hard to do so... especially with Halo 3 coming this year. Halo is going to be a tough one to beat, but like I said if Nintendo can manage to at least release SMG and SSBB then they stand a good chance of coming out victorious this holiday season.

You're right there.Lets see,a new Mario 3D with no ridiculous water pack antics and a new SSB vs. Halo 3.........It'll be a close one, that's for sure.
The wii has sold 7.26 million thats more then half of the xbox360's . Pokemon has sold includeing japan 2.7 million im counting you the U.S.A
