Star Fox Command Impressions

ok, so if you've got it - let's rip it apart!

i just picked up my copy today (even though they don't hit this stores shelves until tomorrow :) it's where i will get my Wii from :) )...already rambling here - not good.

so - it's good. although i haven't made it past the second stage. it feels...odd? the game looks top notch, and getting used to the controls isn't bad - but it seems a bit odd (word really comes to mind alot). i could say that i wish it was on rails and i had an option to control via d-pad, but tough.

i like it and am ready to dig in deeper, but somehow feel like the star fox of yesterday is dead and beyond the VC downloads...i'll never see another great star fox game - so far this feels like a mixup of the open arena battles of 64 (good thing) and the stylized elements of assault...throw in a timer and strategy elements....odd.

worth the price tag though. thoughts?

i actually like it.  I played Starfox 64 today and i thought to myself (wow....that felt really short).....but Command seems pretty lengthy for a Starfox game and it has some replay value.  Im on the 4th mission and loving it so far, Ive also won a few matches of dogfights online :P

And by the way, it gets a lot better after the second stage.  The first and second stages were very repetitive, but the ones beyond that have a lot of strategy and skill involved

That's like me on Metroid. I went back to AC after 10 matches, I simply could not get a kill. Then went back as one of the best players out there XD.

Oh let me guess, the MPH tourney was cancelled? I forgot all about it.

:lol: yeah - the reviews are saying it's so easy...maybe i'm retarded (don't answer!) but it's not cakewalk...sometimes it's so frantic that i don't even read the dialog that pops up in battle...maybe i need to relax but that damn timer keeps me in frantic mode (tiring) and...uh......how do you fire a bomb??? i guess i should read the manual :lol:

anyway i made it past the first boss and to star wolf and then died and i just powered off...still mixed feelings on this one. i'll be diving back in after a bit tonight - we'll have to have a dogfight real soon!! i haven't fought online yet - i haven't even looked at my friend code yet.

to drop a bomb you have to touch the icon on the screen, and then drag it over an area with enemies.  Beware because you can get hit from it as well.  I havent looked at my friend code either so..... hopefully we can face off in a match later

the story is shorter than i thought....i just beat it last night.  Its a good thign there are still 8 storylines to obeat

and i will play you when you get online later, my rank is W so far and I have around 3 wins out of i think 9....along with a total of 29 stars
