Both the SNES and the N64, these consoles were just too good to be true.
The SNES had some awesome games with a perfect controller to match them. Of course the N64 made the first leap into 3D and brought us many instant classics such as Goldeneye and Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

Oh yea!I forgot about Goldeneye, that was my first First-person shooter I've ever played and I loved it. That also was one of the classics I used to have.
DS isn't an option, but with the it introducing'touch generation' and what its done in terms of making gaming accessable to all (plus the touch screen dual screens, wireless multiplayer gaming plus more), it definately stands up (but its not an option).
It's really hard to say though, as except for the cube, they've all done something huge. But just for the fact of how the NES bought gaming back from a dying core and made it popular within homes world wide, I'm going to say the NES.
Believe me guys, if there were more spaces included for the poll, I would have included the DS. Personally, I think the DS is #2 on the list of most evolutionary platforms.REVOLUTIONfreak
So what's your number 1? 64 I'm guessing.
Never owning a 64, the 64 paved the road for video games. This allowed the world of 3-D games to be designed. The N64 made games come "alive." Also the SNES isn't too far with the controls and memorable games. I find the Game Boy color to be a big step as well. This handheld opened the wotld for colored games to be played any where. The GBC opened up the world of portable gaming to be in live color. i am not forgetting the DS which is up there.HyruleanLink
A little off-topic, but I believe the Game Gear had color before the GBC launched :P.

Oh, I think your right. I wasn't update on the consoles and stuff when I was little:P I just wanted that GBC to play.[QUOTE="lebanese_boy"][QUOTE="HyruleanLink"]Never owning a 64, the 64 paved the road for video games. I never found the GBC very appealing... basically because all it was was a Gameboy... that had color. What's so great about that? Besides, GBC games seemed to work on the original Gameboy anyway, or at least my Pokemon games did.I never found the GBC very appealing... basically because all it was was a Gameboy... that had color. While a lot of the games that had Game Boy Color on the box could be played on the original, there were some that could not, like Pokemon Crystal, for example. The cartridge had a different design so that it could not be played on the original. I know what you mean though, as the vast majority could be played on either handheld.
I personally liked the GBC as I much enjoyed playing on a smaller system as well as being able to play all of the games in colour. :)
