A pretty straightforward question, but which Nintendo platform do you think evolved gaming the most? The N64's leap into 3D gaming? The SNES controller's great design? The NES and it's state of the art design? The Wii and its motion sensing? Or, maybe the Gameboy for moving gaming from home to anywhere in the world?

Well that's an easy question. N64 by far. The leap to 3d gaming is easily the biggest evolution in game yet and will continue to be until we get virtual reality.

N64 it did have brilliant 3D games. It just about perfected the Mario and Zelda franchise with truly awesome experiences in 3D gaming and the games had amazing graphics as well.I think every Nintendo fan can say LOZ OOT and Mario 64 are beautiful games and with lots to do and explore N64evolved games the most

 ... Easy! Nintendo 64 because, or course, 3-D graphics. This also introduces Mario Kart in 3-D, Super Smash Bros., Mario Sports games which changed everything espcially Super Mario 64. That's about it.

I would say the N64, but I also believe that the DS contributed a lot so far and isn't done yet so...

Since the DS (which started Nintendo's whole "Game Experience" phase) isn't an option, it would have to be SNES.

What with introducing new concepts and all..

On another note, you always have to remember the Wii. I know it's the present, but we're going to be looking back on this years from now knowing that Nintendo introduced Motion Sensor to a console. Who know ... The 5th or 6th Gen may be Virtual or Consisting of Motion/Vitual Control.

The NES, definitely. Before it was released, games were far too basic. However, with games such as Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, people were finally able to see the potential in games, which then helped to expand the gaming industry to create the SNES; a console widely considered to be one of if not the best of all time.

Both the SNES and the N64, these consoles were just too good to be true.

The SNES had some awesome games with a perfect controller to match them. Of course the N64 made the first leap into 3D and brought us many instant classics such as Goldeneye and Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

Oh yea!I forgot about Goldeneye, that was my first First-person shooter I've ever played and I loved it. That also was one of the classics I used to have.

The NES did give us great games. The SNES was with updated graphics and improved on the franchise and had new franchises like Star Fox and the N64 did have the best games from the Mario and Zelda series and 3D games looked so good with the exploring and the controller worked perfectly. It was easier to use in 3D games like Mario 64 and Zelda OOT. One Nintendo platform that I also think evloved gaming was the DS. The touch screen. You could play 2 or more players wireless on some games and you only needed one person to have that game. Also online play for games like Mario Kart,Pokemon,Metroid Prime Hunters, Tetris DS,Diddy Kong racing and other games could be played online.

DS isn't an option, but with the it introducing'touch generation' and what its done in terms of making gaming accessable to all (plus the touch screen dual screens, wireless multiplayer gaming plus more), it definately stands up (but its not an option).

It's really hard to say though, as except for the cube, they've all done something huge. But just for the fact of how the NES bought gaming back from a dying core and made it popular within homes world wide, I'm going to say the NES.

Believe me guys, if there were more spaces included for the poll, I would have included the DS. Personally, I think the DS is #2 on the list of most evolutionary platforms.

64, though I never actually owned one. The 3-D graphic thing was a BIG step. I'd have to say the second one was the SNES, the consepts were awesome and mostly because I just have so many good memories with that thing. I got one when it first came out and it's still kickin'

In my opinion, it was the Nintendo 64, for bringing us truly fantastic games in 3D. It's still my favourite console to date! :)

Never owning a 64, the 64 paved the road for video games. This allowed the world of 3-D games to be designed. The N64 made games come "alive." Also the SNES isn't too far with the controls and memorable games. I find the Game Boy color to be a big step as well. This handheld opened the wotld for colored games to be played any where. The GBC opened up the world of portable gaming to be in live color. i am not forgetting the DS which is up there.

A little off-topic, but I believe the Game Gear had color before the GBC launched :P.

Same here, the gameboy color just had the best games out of the two and was a much better handheld in overall (much smaller).

I never found the GBC very appealing... basically because all it was was a Gameboy... that had color. What's so great about that? Besides, GBC games seemed to work on the original Gameboy anyway, or at least my Pokemon games did.

While a lot of the games that had Game Boy Color on the box could be played on the original, there were some that could not, like Pokemon Crystal, for example. The cartridge had a different design so that it could not be played on the original. I know what you mean though, as the vast majority could be played on either handheld.

I personally liked the GBC as I much enjoyed playing on a smaller system as well as being able to play all of the games in colour. :)

Well actually I do think that there was a tech leap from Gameboy to Gameboy Color, why did some of the games work only on the GBC ? BTW REV, I know what you mean. On the box of Pokemon Silver it's written ''Gameboy Color'' right ? Well it's not written ''Only For Gameboy Color'' and some games were compatible with only the gameboy color.
