I think moogles made their first appearance in FFIII. As for chocobos, I'm not sure, but I think they started in FFII.

I thought there were chocobos in FFI?  I know they're in II.

My point was that both of those have become such an identifier it wouldn't feel right to exclude them in the future.

Chocobo's are most definitely the staple of FF. I'm pretty fond of tonberry's too (despite how badly they mess up your party XD) but I don't recall seeing any in FFXII! Does anybody else remember?JukedSolid

Did you ever get the tonberry GF in FF8? You have to go on a tonberry killing spree before the really big one shows up?  That battle seriously cracked me up, and the tonberry GF attack itself was hilarious!
