State-of-the-art visual, audio and gameplay technology.

Amazing story.

Great music.

Fabulous characters.

The truest RPG of all RPGs.

Who will beg to differ? Who can DENY?!

On a side note, please put up Spoiler notices as per necessary. Now, i'll make it a point to name all topics related to Final Fantasy XII with a "FFXII Exclusive" at the front. This will, hopefully, prevent people who hasn't gotten the game from taking a step further into getting the game spoilt for them.

The game is in my opinion, even more revolutionary than Final Fantasy VII was. Final Fantasy XII finally gave you the freedom to really do almost anything you wanted. There's almost never a time where you are restricted to be able to travel. You can customize your characters basically in every possible way, by use of the license system and/or the gambit system. And for once the game actually offers you a countless number of hours, for several reasons. You are almost forced to at least take some time out of your gameplay to level up your characters, or fight monsters in hopes of gaining loot to sell, because you're no longer getting *insert number here* of gil every time you defeat a monster, which is good because why the hell would a Fire Elemental be carrying 684 gil? Also, there are several sidequests, such as the marks to keep you playing and levelling up for some, because they offer a huge challenge to you, and if you're the kind of player who likes to breeze through enemies, you'll have to be at least 5 levels higher. The characters and storyline is great as well. I'm hearing all these complaints of how Vaan is the worst lead character ever. Well there's a reason for that...he really isn't the main character, no one really is. They all play their respective roles, and really aren't capable of being a lead character, because there really isn't anything spectacular about them, they're just normal people. It's not like Tidus (i'll leave the spoilers to those who know) or Zidane (again i'll leave the spoilers), the characters of Final Fantasy XII are just regular people, who are fighting for their country. The game is easily the best in the series, because it's offers the best gameplay, and you can feel a lot of the story as part of your own.

I don't because I was slightly disappointed because of the character development and music. I miss nubou uematsu's works so much and I feel blue dragon is more of a final fantasy game than this. I'ts still a great game but on it's own league.

It really all goes down to how you think about what you consider to be a Final Fantasy game. A lot of people consider the sort of realism portrayed in Final Fantasy XII to make it seem like it's no longer a "Fantasy". But we all know that's not true for one reason...the time of Ivalice is in the past...airships did not exist then :)

No no I really liked the theme and the western feeling of it but I wish they worked more on the story and music because the more you play games the more the standards get higher and it's hard to find something with a unique and different materia.

I gotta admit, I was sad when I heard Nobuo Uematsu wasn't part of the music in Final Fantasy XII. And it shows...the only song I actually listen to out of the game is the opening theme, which is a redone version of a prior Final Fantasy theme. The story however, I can disagree with, but since I'm not even halfway through the game (even after 45 hours :P) I can't really comment on it yet.

personally, although FFXII is an amazing game, I still find it lacks what makes FF great to me....a good story, I mean the war, strife of Dalmasca and whatnot are all nice but internally the game fails to grant me tthe same feel FFVII did all those years ago, of course comparing graphics FFXII would win however FFVII:AC offered the characters in a less cartoony animation style, and displayed what was too coem for the series, if they remake FFVII for PS3 (without remaking everything or changing the story) I would not even touch FFXII, so basically all FFXII has got on FFVII is the battle system and graphics, little in comparison to what FFVII possesses in my opinion

I agree with you .It is very much a definitive game. It has everything I look for in a FF game, and then some. 52 hours in. Reached the camp in the middle of the Phon Coast. Characters levels range from 30 to 35. Loved every second of it - which is rare for me and a FF game. Usually, by this point, the story is the only thing that keeps me hanging on
