I personally don't agree with this, but I thought people might want to check it out just the same.

Well , althought I do not agree with some points, I think he is right about SE milking the series too much.
"And not even Activision has that many f****** games in the pipeline at once." . lols. :?
And its somehow true, Im personally not interested in Type-0, it seems like the game is a mix of Persona and Tactis, and indeed could be a great mixing, but afterI dont feel the emotion anymore. The same with VsXIII, it has been 4 years now, and its seems like a DK Forever. Sure the game looks great, but do you feel the same excitment as when it was announced, back in those years when XIII was also announced?.Â
Anyway, if type-0, XIII-2 and specially VsXIII are well focused, Im pretty sure they will return the somehow-time-lost crown to final fantasy :). Not talking about FFXIV, because it seems like another black sheep in the past of final fantasy :P

Honestly, my excitement for Duke Nukem Forever has been restored now that it has a damned release date.Well , althought I do not agree with some points, I think he is right about SE milking the series too much.

Don't forget about Dissidia. Square is working on at least 4 Final Fantasy titles now
I agree that they need to tone it back a bit, but I still feel the same way for the franchise as always.
what i say they need to do is to hold back on any new final fantasy once they get the ones in development out so they can get a great game put together. not to say that the recent ones arent that good, i liked both XII and XIII and have played them for a total of 300 hrs together. but both XI and XIV were the killers of the series if you ask me. square should have just kept it a single-player rpg and not made any game in the series mmo.
square just needs to take its time and regain our interest with a back-breaking, gut-punching, awesome story line Final Fantasy in the future. that will bring the series back up to what it once was.
This has been my favorite game series for a long time and I have a "the more the merrier" attitude towards it. FFVII is my favourite game, and while I never played Dirge of Cerberus (which I heard was not the best), I loved both Advent Children and Crisis Core. FFXIV doesn't matter much to me cuz I don't play mmo's anyway. XIII-2, VsXIII and Zero all look great in my opinion, so I think the series has a bright future. cjimrunDo not play Dirge of Cerberus. The game is practically broken
Perhaps this guy should have patience and wait for the games to come out and then be blown away or just bash them more? He rightfully contradicts himself that he's getting fed up because of the over-exposure of content he's been examining. Uhhh who's fault is that? SE?he is an editor for a video game website. Paying attention to video games is his job
Nah, he got himself into this mad distress. And we can't deny that some dedicated fans cannot resist but dig deep into seeking the right guidance how games should keep us interested. But we have a choice whether can enjoy them or not. He should just sit back and ignore the franchise for a while then get all the games once they're all out. That would be the best cure for him. It's good to complain in a while, but I still don't completely agree with him.DreadDLordD

Mystic Quest isn't broken. That, automatically, makes it a better game than Dirge of Cerberus. It is still pretty bland and forgettable., though.Â
I am playing Crisis Core now. I just beat Sephiroth. I have to be almost done with this game at this point, but there are so many side missions. If they weren't so damned repetitive, it would be better.
Â
you know, Sephiroth was EASY inthis game. I kicked his ass and made him shine my boots. You battle him in two forms, and I had gto heal one time. I, also, reached level 43 during the battle
Crisis Core isn't a hard game. But you have to admit fighting Sephiroth was Epic.Balmane
CrisisCore has normal difficulty and hard, none of which are hard....magitekk
Later Missions on Hard are actually very hard :P

Hard difficulty is pretty much a breeze if you beat it on normal mode then do newgame+.
If you try to complete all the missions, I guarantee a challenge. I beat all but like 2 or 3 of them, then I couldn't reach Minerva cuz the enemies in one of the last missions (cactuars if I remember right) just kept killing me so badly.

It's not about 'fun'; if I can take that motherf**k down with a few hits with Blizzaga as opposed to s**tloads of sword slashes, I'm going to use motherf**king Blizzaga. If anything, that is how it should be, doing it the smart and convenient way.
When you have an easy way around something, f**k the supposed 'how it should be' (lol, still tickling my sides), I got a way to save time. Obviously, the easiest way to win a fight is probably the way Square intended the fight to be fought out. You think they'd go and make Blizzaga a heavy-hitter on Sephiroth just because they dun' goof'd? Nope.
It would only seem fair to beat Sephiroth with dignity. Using magic would just make Sephiroth a joke right? Why didn't Cloud just blast him with Blizzaga (Pardon I mean Ice 3) instead of going all the hassle to Omnislash him at the end?DreadDLordD
Because it wouldn't have seemed that epic.

They did that for people who want to beat Sephiroth quickly like *coughmagitekkcough*.
I really enjoyed the battle by just using the sword and potions :PÂ
I already forgot where you fight against him :P wasnt at the first stage rigth? :P.
Because you fight Genesis at the end right?
Last order was ok, but it really isn't on par with other FFVII media, and it has a fatal flaw in the plot that sets it at odds with the rest of FFVII canon.Â

Like Cloud showing his face to Tifa and Tifa being all like 'Cloud, I knew you'd come for me". yadda yadda or however it went, I don't think that happened in CC at all. Then there's Zack on the motorcycle with Cloud, that didn't happen, then there's other stuff I can't remember.

The scene I'm referring to is when Cloud and Sephiroth have thier confrontation on Mt. Nibel. In Last Order, Sephiroth jumps into the reactor with Jenova's head, while in all other FFVII media, he is thrown in by Cloud. This moment in the OAV struck me hard because the scene from the game of Cloud lifting Sephiroth by the Masamune is one of my favs.    Â
