Okay so I'll ask the question again. Is it extremely important to level up the characters to a higher level. I mean I know you must be strong, but it is hard to get in contact with an enemy, so I'm just asking is the game based on level or just on how many license things you've completed and have?

Im no where near completing that, but your liscense grid ( LG ) is extremely important, esp[ecially quickenings and good magic. You can then get ones to boost attack power and defense

In all FF's you dont need to level up at all, if you know the right tactic! Example, FF9 complete at lvl 1

Level is always good to have i guess. But it's the LP you really need. Get three quicknings (or something like that) And just start level. From level 40-45, i guess you can use 1hour if you do it good. And it goes faster and faster.

Gold is important for sure! Have A LOT gold so you can buy the best gear all the time, you will kick ass with the best gear you can buy!

from someone who has completely pwned FFXII .....if you level up u become imba, you get all the licenses and mad stats and the game becomes boring because its so easy, frankly just play the game at a moderate pace, if you do alot of the mark hunts you should have sufficient stats to beat the game while retaining the fun factor ...just my input

yeah, don't do all those super-leveling or whatever the people call it. Just level up as you go along, the pace is extremely easy to catch on, if you find yourself in trouble, it means you're underleveled, if you're killing things at a moderate pace, it means you're appropriately leveled, if you kill things will one hit, it means you're severely over-leveled.

For FFXII, you may have the highest level, but being under-licensed doesn't help too much either. The licenses are more important. Usually, defense and attack stats go up with leveling up, but it's not the case with FFXII, the only way to upgrade those stats significantly is by using the license grid.

I would say, better earn more LPs than EXP. Go and train at an easy area to gain LP fast, better than spending time killing a EXP-heavy monster and then earning one LP for killing it.

Well, I was always of whom raise the level until the limit, iin all the end fantasy that I played (except in the 1), the truth is that, in the end, the only thing that serves for is for the knowledge that you can no longer do more, and that you have to finish it quickly or you are just wasting your time....:) Well not always.. Take the advice from kinetic-Core, and this, walk along the gameand if you see that some boss is really difficult, or the enemies of that area are complicated for your party, raises a little more level in that area or a previous one. That way the challenge of the game will not be lost and this will lead to develop better your abilities, your strategy and your Gambits.

I have come to realise what KC says is true. The game is different from the others, in the fact that there is two ways to raise stats now, and the LB is much more effective than levels, but you need both to be able to get through with more ease.

That's the extreme advantage of self-customizability in FFXII. It's not like the Sphere grid, everyone has a certain path to follow. In FFXII, YOU choose your own path. Although, ultimately, everyone would end up being the same, somewhat, but it is the development process that is truly entertaining.

Yeah, you can decide who should be caster/healer, warrior or what you want them to be...That way it's loads of fun, so do not use guides for this to find out the best way to go. Just try:)

i still prefer ff5 in the jobs section for 1 reason. the fact that you can mix and match jobs! monk wielding a sword! lol
but i say get the weapon first then get the license! always keep enough lp fo the next set of weapons! and you could steal from the rare monster in barheim to get death bringers and then when you do get there train at cerobbi steppe because the ring wyrms there give alot of exp and the death effect on the death bringers is stupendous! also get 3 golden amulets( double lp) for youre 3 ppl that arent in youre party and 3 enchanted somethings(?) and give them to youre active party! it doubles exp for active party memebers and doubles lp for inactive! balance of the worlds 8)
