Okay, i know people have heard bad things about it.. who is actually influenced by those negative comments and will not get it? :P

Okay, the bad things mentioned is the gameplay difficulty being too hard, and having little control over the character's actions during battle because of the availibility of Gambits. :)

I never listen to ratings and opinions very often because most of the time they are wrong. Also I'm pretty easy going and I enjoy pretty much anything. Out of loads of people I must of been one of the only people who thought Aeris' voice in AC was pretty good. Though sometimes if I hear it is bad I will probably enjoy it more because I won't be expecting very much. Don't expect too much or get your hopes up about something because you'll be probably very dissapointed.

Yeah, those comments don't bother me, I am still going to play the game, and I will decide how the game is for myself.

I don't really care what others say about games (or anything). You often find the best games when you have been told it's not so good.

If other people think that is a bad game, i think they should do that. But they should not try to make other people not play it. Thats not the way the world will keep on spinning!...And i will play it anyway, since Kinetic speak so highly about it:P

Just like most editors say in their reviews

"Fans of the series will definitely don't care about the review, they'll just go out, buy it, and play it all day long"

I'll like it i Hope, but hopefully FF13 isn't going to be like what was shown at E3 or I am sure I won't like it, and many other fans won't like the Action-RPG

a good example of not listening to peoples opinions is x-2.

people complain about it because it isnt the usual final fantasy( it was a spin off for fs sake).

people would give it a 3.0/10( liquid) because they dont consider it an ff and some would give it a 9.2/10( me) because they appreciate it and just found it very fun.

The problem with player reviews is that often times the most fanatical are the only ones that write them.  Only the people that love or hate a game have something to say. And most of these people aren't very good at saying it either, they just make some stupid review blatanty bashing the game but never really analyzing it, just pounding you with weak points. The reason this can be a problem even more is because the big fan supporters then write thier review which just give it all 10's says the game is great and you just have to play it and doesn't do much to explain anything either. I know that I have some huge reviews, but I still don't write as much as a real reviewer. I mean Greg Kasavin wrote a 5 page review for FFX, and I haven't seen a fan review that comes close to it. Honestly fans don't play games with the intent to review them, they just pick up on the things they distinctly like and don't like without pay attention to details and thinking about balance. I have made some mistakes in the games I own, that is true, but for the most part I play games I think I will like, and for the most part I am correct. I think FFXII looks great and nothing is going to keep me from getting it.

"most" ff fans i know liked kh/2 which is an action rpg, so since the dudes from kh2 r working on versus it should be a pretty nice cinematic masterpiece IMO, plus its good to see SE do something new for a while.

from whatI've read, it sounds like FFX-2 and Suikoden 5 meshed together.  still sounds decent when you just get thrown into combat without having "...battle transitions or victory poses" to tell you when it ends.  But I'm not really thrilled about the acting.

Personally, player ratings aren't very reliable and should just be read to see their POV on the game, reviews you see in magazines are sometimes reliable, but seem to leave out some good details on the game, I don't really care, I'm still playing the game regardless

To me is does not matter what people say about the game. I'm going to get no matter what. I may or may not like it but I will find out for myself.

One of the most sensible answers you can get... :) It's really all about personal enjoyment and experience. Okay, i did say that FFXII is absolutely remarkable! But, hey, that's me. If anyone, somehow, found the game crappy or is just pure rubbish, you can't carry an axe and threaten to chop me up for convincing you to play that game.

Honestly, the thing about FFXII is, things are said by two different groups of people. Honestly, at the professional [reviewers] point of view, this game is near perfection. Gameplay, AI, graphics, music, effects, story, difficulty, animation blah blah blah, they're of a high standard no one should hold any objections about. But, at the fans' point of view, this game is really not that good.
- Basically, this game may appear too difficult,
- and the gambits [which reviewers think is a great AI feature] just make the fans feel that they're not controlling the game as much as before,
- music-wise, some fans just dislike it because it's not the usual melodious nobuo-style-easy-to-hum kind of music. But, any John Williams' fans should be happy with the FFXII soundtrack.

You see, professionally, this game is just one of the best out there. But, fanboy-ly or fan-girl-ly, this game does not sound that good.

Well the big fans don't like changes. They want it to be the same as before. You can se it every were, in real life and in gaming world. You cange it and the old hyper fan will destroy you...Thats the bad thing about big fans:(

Well said. I'm a fan but I'm not to inpressed with the game as of yet. I have only played a demo and I'm hopping the game is better. Change is not always a good thing but sometimes you just have to give it a try/chance caues you just might like it.

the real FFXII is way way better than the demo. You must definitely try it. :) The gambits system just blew me away. [in a good way] :)

I am looking forward to this game coming out. It's been since a long wait, infact I think it's the longest wait for a FF game. But I could be wrong about that part.
