Has anyone actually beaten the Luca Goers in the first attempt?

I'm currently replaying a classic Final Fantasy X, for the fun of it.

And, i'm having a save right before the game with the Luca Goers... and i'm attempting to beat them.

But....

IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!! :cry:

yup it was hard on the first playthrough but it isn't imposible

first i get close with tidus and use the jecht shot then i get the ball again and cheat a bit :D i stay behind my goalie the rest of the  game:D

i think i'm pampered with the high-levels in my last blitzball team, now i can't play with amateur tidus.... :|

i put them in manual mode

i'm playing the PAL version I don't know if the US version has the same controls

maybe it just means that i'm lousy.... before. BUT I DID IT!! Only by one goal :? seriously, spamming the jecht shot works!

Of course it does, it is way overpowered.

hmm.... i'm really talking about the VERY FIRST game against the lucans you know? But then, i'm so happy i beat them, for once. I must try again! :Dkinetic-core

i killed them on my first attempt with Tidus and the Jecht Shot. they didnt stand a chance. then Wakka came and i scored another goal just to make sure that i would win.AlBeadFFx
