For me, i really hated it.
It kinda defeats the purpose of original RPG spirit to train and level up and then being able to defeat your enemies with ease.

I didn't mind it, my party was pretty strong, and I don't remember having too much trouble with enemies, and since enemies leveled with you, they were never a complete joke, either.
I prefer it when they don't so that when you go back to places from the beginning of the game you don't have to worry about getting killed and can actually do what you want to.Darmiagreed
Well, even though enemies leveled up as well, the enemies at the beginning are still extremely quick and easy to beat near the end.
Yeah, what's the point of leveling up, if they're gonna do it too? You might as well stay at level 1 !mikesealol yeah was thinkig the same thing
I think the point is for you to grow in the story as your characters grow too :P, particullary I love to level up, it...kinda...makes me ...feell...powerfull --..lolyeah and increase your strenght and get ew spells

which all goes away due to my awesome FF skills. ;)
I prefer it, because you gain more EXP that way.
IpodHero176
and so do the enemies :), which I don't mind.

Me either:)
I don't think it's a bad thing. There are players out there who run low-level challenges through the games, and when the monsters's level up with you, it just provides the exact opposite challenge.
In the case of FF VIII, you can junction magic to raise your stats without raising your levels. So, for an easier game, keep your levels lower and for a harder game, level up. Since the monsters level up with you, you can start a game and right off the bat, grind to a very high level fairly quickly. The low-level challenge simply becomes the high-level challenge.
I'm glad it's not in every game as it is a break from traditional RPGs, but it's nice for a change like this on occasion.
