The whole Revenant Wings business turned out to be a FFXII spin-off. Rumour has it may take place before the main story of FFXII( as the characters look albeit younger) takes place, and the gameplay will be based on Final Fantasy Tactics.
Personally, I'm taken quite a back. I was hoping SquareEnix would leave FFXII untouched in terms of spinoffs/sequels. I'm not going to say this will flop out, I'm really hoping it doesn't actually. But I hate it when they spread all the spin-offs/sequels on different platforms. I find it a bit annoying.
So fellow fans, what are your opinions or feelings about this announcement?

i think i stated somewhere, I can foresee a FFX-2 style Final Fantasy XII sequel... and i was actually right :? I hope i wasn't right at that time though.
geez.... since it's for the DS, i wouldn't think that i would be missing a lot, for it may just be a casual title. But if it's a PS2 game, there may be more depth in it.
Edit: yeah, this was what i wrote last week... :roll: geez... looks like we can expect Square Enix's movement from now onwards. :shock: this is so tiring.
well, i'm not really that excited, citing the fact that things may turn out to be just like FFX-2 :roll: but, let's hope it's just a casual add-on, not something that's content-intensive, with lots of story and stuff.
O no, it can't be like FFX-2! I will be sad than. X-2 were good, but they kinda ruined the thing i loved in X:( I loved the ending in X, and X-2 broke that for me i felt:( If that happends in XII i do not know what to do:cry:
it wouldn't be abnormal for FF to go back to its "roots". Nintendo is the father of most games anyway. If Sony doesn't really make good what Blu-Ray can do, Nintendo is going to take the big big 'Square Enix'-flavored cake.
Now that's a plenty of reasons to get a DS :shock:
