I hate the state the gaming industry is in, it's obvious that companies are hurting so much for money that they are  shutting down anyone else who's a threat to their merchandise, even their own fans. It's hard to remain a fan when square has been so dickish to every fan of theirs. It's even funnier to me that they continue to see things selling and move to shut it down, but they continue to ignore what the fans want even when they could earn money off of it themselves. Seriously square either get with the program yourself and stop being assholes or justs let the fans remember how good you used to be in their own ways.

No they lost money on tomb raider as well, they were expecting MUCH bigger profits...x.x they are pretty much failing on every level.. then again the entire industry is flailing around at the moment trying to survive.Xx_Kares_xX

I haven't played most of those.. but I didn't really thing Rage was all that good.. just another generic 'post apacolyptic shooter' Fallout 3 did it much better and I'm not a fan of that either. The only games of those that I've been curious about are the resistance games... I only ahve the one on the PSP so far though @.@Xx_Kares_xX

To Valerth: Yeah I heard Retribution was awesome which is why I picked it up when I found it for $6... the only problem is I wanted to play the first one before hand so I didn't spoil any of the story for myself ^^'

Chaotic and fun is the way shooters should be. And the fact that its coming to PS4 ( hopefully Crytek dont stop it) makes me so excited!

I haven't played most of those and disagree with a lot of the others ^^' but it takes a LOT for a shooter to impress me. It's pretty sad when I'd consider Halo better than most of the games you listed though (Exceptions being Doom and Quake... which really aren't all that good any more either but are remembered as good for what they did to the genre and gaming industry as a whole). We've already had the discussion on how I thought Half-Life 2 was highly over rated and inferior to it's predecessor in every way and we will never see eye to eye on that ^^'. I thought Rage was rather subpar... if you want to play a post apocolyptic shooter with RPG elements play Fallout 3 or hell Borderlands. Farcry 3 actually looks REALLY good, but I haven't played it either. Wolfenstein doesn't hold up anymore but I haven't played the reimagining... and I've never heard of Stalker. I've heard good things about Metro but most people say the first is better than the second. Either way it looks interesting.

That's my basic rundown, quite a bit more pessimistic than yours was, but it's just a difference in taste.

FALLOUT 3 IS NOT A SHOOTER! IT IS AN RPG! IT is an RPG with shooter elements. NOT the other way around. RAge is a shooter with RPG elementsm and a damned good one. It fdoes a great job [providing a huge and gorgeous wrorld with a variety of unique environemnts. Each group of enemies behaves differently than the others. There is a lot of depth and variety to the gameplay. That is awesome.

What? Most people say the second Metro is bettere than the first. 

To be honest it's hard for me to argue fallout as I hate games in that sort of open world Genre. Rage had the most boring barren desert wasteland of a world ever and the enemy AI was TERRIBLE. 

I have never played a metro game so I don't really know either way. The real problem here is that you are obviously a shooter fan while I am not. I have a much heavier background in RPGs and shooters are probably the genre I'm LEAST interested in because for most of the market is saturated with grey and brown 'modern warfare' games.

 I have a very heavy background in RPGs too dude. That is part of why Fallout appeals to be so much. That game is friggin brilliant

No!! that's not what I meant, I was not trying to discredit your RPG credentials...  ^^' I was just admitting to my LACK of credentials when it comes to most shooters.  I'm sorry it came off that way it was not my intention.

I didn't complete Rage no, I played a friend's copy and it didn't take long for me to  get bored.

'Different' AI doesn't mean it's well programmed. I can make a game where every creature 'acts differently' that doesn't mean it is programmed well.

I didn't play borderlands for the story, it was for the coop shooting and looting. I only played fallout for about 2 hours before I said, "Oh.. it's Oblivion with guns' and I hated oblivion so there was no reason that I'd like Fallout @.@. (3 that is... I enjoy 1 and 2)

Edit: I went to look up some info on Rage, I was unaware it was made by Bethesda as well.. so the connection is obvious.. I really just don't like the games the company puts out. I was fairly certain I'd heard that Rage was developed by Id Software... ? oh well x.x

Edit again: Ahh... published by Bethesda but made by Id.. guess I wasn't as far off as I thought... the one exception to my comment above about not liking Bethesda.. is Dishonored... which is awesome.

You are wrong. Fallout is NOT Oblivion with guns. It is its own unique thing.

RAGE was not made by Bethesda. It was made by ID Software.

I know I have played it. I was just telling you about Borderlands 2 :P 

Oh. He didn't say Fallout so I assumed it was borderlands.... No I have not play Fallout 1 and 2. But I have played 3 which is brilliant of course. They might be masterpieces but you can't deny the work they put into borderlands 2 (They really tried making it a better game).Balmane
