Ground hand to hand battles done in the style of the LOTR movies. Sky battles done in the style of Star Wars. fs_metal
I thought the same exact thing!
And yes, this is quite a game. The characters grow on you fast, as well. I don't know about that Vayne, though. I think he might be trouble later on, but I could be wrong.
I got it!!! LAst night at midnight. Best intro ever. Ground hand to hand battles done in the style of the LOTR movies. Sky battles done in the style of Star Wars. Truely impressive. The best voice acting the series has seen yet - by far. It is top notch stuff. The script is also excellent. Very well written and intellegent. Far and away the best FF script ever, and the best SE script since Vagrant Story. The cities are HUGE and overloaded with detail. It seems as if hundreds of people are wondering the streets. With so much going on on screen at any given time, it is a wonder that the game still manages to be far more detailed and better looking than any previous FF game. The cities are fun to explore. The CGI cut scenes are the best from FF yet. Comparable to next gen stuff. Absolutely amazing. The story seems pretty cool so far, as well. This game has impressed the hell out of me so farfs_metal
Should we throw all that talk about next-gen rpg quality out the window then :D I agree, I was only able to play about 2 hours of it yesterday do to exhustion, I actually passed out trying to play this morning from sleep deprivation lol. The introduction scene was absolutely breathtaking and the best I have seen from any game I have ever played IMO. You really had this epic feeling watching it.
*edit* I can't spell*
yup yup :D
i'm so happy for you guys. As of now, i can only continue to admire my JPN version, i hope you guys will enjoy it as much as i did :D When you get started, you just start to be amazed by everything. The graphics, animation, voice [perhaps the JPN version was better], exploration, battle, and etc.
I mean, everything is done IN DETAIL!! Look at the skies and moving clouds beneath your feet at Bhujerba. Look at the sand at the Sandsea. Look at the frozen ice at Bur Omisace with water flowing underneath. Look at the way the character runs and stops. Look at EVERYTHING!
Geez...You can even see your characters' reflection in the Save Crystal! :D Everything is done in detail, so superb. Great effort put in. Absolutely wonderful game.
And did anyone actually realize the use of the English language is quite queer and special and difficult to understand in this game? Or is it just my poor English? Is it in some form of older English or higher English or whatever it is??
I'm aware of the accents, have the Indian accents on the Bhujerbans i know. lol. But the Enligsh language? The speech, words, everything! It's in another form of English! Some higher-class English, perhaps?
No No it's old english, like they use thee, thou, shall etc. and basically add a lot of metaphors and similies I love it, but it's not higher-class english, no new version  .And did anyone actually realize the use of the English language is quite queer and special and difficult to understand in this game? I HATE YOU ALL.....im still waiting for the dam thing te be released here.....azazel_666sorry... oops? but i can assure you one thing. With the great localization effort put in for the NA version, i'm sure as much is being done for the EU version. All i can say is, the wait will be worth it. :) Be patient.. since we've waited six long years, we can wait a few more months, can we?
Anyways, i was wondering if the GS reviewer watched the interview with one of the producers, forgot which one, in the Collectors' Edition. Well, even if he did, he probably wouldn't be affected much either. That guy [interviewed guy] said something about having even the most minute details, in terms of graphics, in all places, even in places you don't expect to see.
I just **squeezes my face together** don't get how Final Fantasy XII can simply just get a NINE!!! 9!!! for its graphics. If you want to add in the movies into the judging of the Graphics, i actually believe the graphics deserve at least a 9.5 . Simply because of all the minute and teeny-weeny details in there. Absolutely amazing. The more i look at the graphics, the more amazed I become.
I mean, just try to look for something, and you'll just get it! For example, i was wondering "Hmm... would i be able to see myself in the save crystal??" And BOOM! I got it! No one told me to look for it especially. No one mentioned it to me before, or maybe i wasn't aware of any declarations by anyone else. I looked for a reflection! And there it was! Right before me! It was just like magic. Amazement, simple amazement is what captures me in this game.
''With the great localization effort put in for the NA version, i,m sure as much is being done for the EU version''
Ya that is true.....considiring we got the international virsion of X and X-2 B4 any1 so yay....
Not in speech, and there are some noticeable "strange-to-me" English in non-dialogues speeches and quite a lot of the voiced speeches as well. Thee, don't think i've seen it. But, thou... i think so. But the only time i've came across these stuff was Shakespeare :? old english it is then..kinetic-coreA lot of old writers write this way like the poet Edgar Allan Poe, I mean I don't think he uses thee thou and stuff but it is an old english that he writes, and Robert Burn who wrote my love is a red red rose (something like that) they write O'er instead of over and things like that.
Wahahahaha! was the game spoilt for you?!? Bah.. just leave the boards and play FFXII.
I'm actually stuck somewhere, i'm lost. No map no anything. And i keep gettin back to the same spot. I can't remember how i got through in the Japanese version :| I think i just bumped my way across that dungeon without knowing where i was going. Now, i can't get through it. I must wait for the strategy guide to arrive...
Cute, now he has more swords! it's quite funny when you fight him. Enkidu is here, too! So where you at now fs? I'm at the second last part of the game, and before trying to take the game further, [now that i finally get my own personal airship...] i wanna complete all the mob hunts, better than travelling on foot or with the stones. Can't wait to fight Gilly too. But i'm more looking forward to finding the Espers this time round. I didn't get most of them because of language difficulties the other time. kinetic-coreHe still had like 6 swords in FFV.
I just got back to Rabanastre (or whatever it is called). I have been leveling up to go find the Garif. WHERE THE HELL DO I GET BOLTS FOR THE BOW GUN! I bought one for Balthier so he can be all big and badass, and he cannot use it yetfs_metal
well... i had a hard time trying to get strong ammunition as well. But, since you're at this point of the game. Hmm... i think there's a Seeq shop [talking about saving her daugther or something] outside the Nalbina Fortress that sells ammunition. Next time, when you get ammunition from a completed quest or trasure box, lol, don't sell it! Ammunition doesn't come easy early on in the game. Not that it's easy to find towards the end either. Just keep 'em, lol.
I just managed to get a 50-Chain, and now i got the mascot for it! :D found a good point to kill re-spawning enemies and took it on myself to kill at least 50! Yay!
And... the spelling for the Royal City of Rabanastre is correct :P lol

I got a chain more than 200 long. 251 or something.omg... you actually have the patience to go for a 200-long chain. I don't... :| Really, Fran and Balthier plays the 'know-it-all' role in FFXII. With a back story for her, i've grown to like her. In fact, there's no way you can't like Balthier. He is well, the "leading man", so he says... For me, i really like Ashe. kinetic-coreHe's just there to see how the story unfolds :P
Does anyone else think that the voices sound like their talking into a can or something. I havent noticed anyone saying anything about this, so Im wondering if its just my copy.
One thing I ould have loved to see in this game would be a first person looking around mode. I dont mean during battles or anything, just when you want to, hit a shoulder button and look at the backgrounds and people. It seems a shame they didnt do that with how great everything looks.
Also Fran rules.
I agree wit the first person perspective, but talking into a can?! What?!Does anyone else think that the voices sound like their talking into a can or something. I havent noticed anyone saying anything about this, so Im wondering if its just my copy.

It sounds very echoy to me. Like if you hold a can or something to your mouth then talk. But like I said it could just be something wrong with my copy. Either way its not that big a deal to me.
YESÂ Joe, it isn't your disc. The voice actors sound like they should step further away from the microphone or something... it sounds quite muffled.
Kablay: I don't really know why or how you got bored of it , but i've been through this as well. I couldn't find a specific mob and got frustrated, along with the Gambits, because everything was just too automatic. But otherwise, i think this game is okay with "boredom". Younger players may not like the story, but i think it's one of the best any RPG can offer. Let me give you a tip: Whenever you feel bored, take a look around. See how nature is taking place at that area. Be amazed by the graphics. Enjoy the scenery. Take a deep breath.... and you're back into the game. That's how i did it. [mind you, i'm on the 3rd playthrough....and i still ain't bored with it lol]
On a side note, I JUST BEATEN GILGAMESH FIRST TIME!! [the english cutscenes' not as funny but, it'll do]:D too soon to get too happy. I went on to fight the Diabolos, and i was getting kicked real bad. I know i'm not ready for Gilly's second battle. I'll train up further! :P
you haven't beaten the game? And you're on the 3rd playthrough. :o actually, i meant, i'm replaying FFXII for the 3rd time lol. And i stil ain't bored! :D
On a side note, i've beaten GILGAMESH!! :D It was easier in English i guess. lol. I can execute commands faster and easier than the JPN version. You gotta love it. I have a separate save file for the fight with Gilgamesh, i'll get back to it every now and then. :P
My next objective, would have to be the legendary Yazmat. :| Can't wait for it.
Also Fran rules.
yup fran is the best. she is my best magic atk and ranged characterGetting ready to tackle the beast Yiazmat, that thing scares me...50 million....what were they thinking...
Any advice? Some guy said he's weak against dark element but I don't think so, how can a super boss have a weakness?
oh my god.... why did you buy a US game FH?? That's about the dumbest thing to do. Now you gotta spend more time and money.
As for Yazmat, please make sure your characters have the top notch equipment. Doesn't matter about which atk weapon you have, cos it takes as long as several hours regardless of what you use :? lol. You can get some of the best defense armor by completing the Hunts at the Phon Coast and exchanging the Trophies with great armor. :P Still, armor isn't worth anything toward the last part of the battle with Yazmat. It'll start crazy combo and high-attacking.
He increases his level everytime you leave, so don't think that running back and forth from the save crystal is going to help :| Try casting Reverse on your characters, it may help a bit. The first parts of the battle is more annoying than difficult, it's the ending part that drives you crazy. Casting healing spells may not help, since characters get killed in one hit, highest HP would not even reach 9999 for any character, even with Bubble. So, just attacking and reviving may be a good strategy at the end. AND!!!! MP IS YOUR LIFE!!! Don't waste it on atk spells, try to use all of them for just support and healing spells.
Still, you can use items, go and restock once you run out of 'em, Yazmat will still have the same amount of HP left. Just that, he seems to have leveled up [i think so]. And, make sure he doesn't have Regen on when you leave him, or .... well, you know.
I beaten it in 7 hours and 13 minutes. Kudos! [That was about 6 months ago though, i can't remember my strategy clearly, but a whole lot of luck has got to do with it. Some Japanese FAQ had the details. :P]
Well i didn't:P My dad did:) He actually got that game when he was in USA, i have no idea how or anything. But he did:D I guess i have to borrow my friends chipped PS2 for some time now:)oh my god.... why did you buy a US game FH?? That's about the dumbest thing to do. Now you gotta spend more time and money.
kinetic-core
Thanks! Yeah it's the last hour bit that frightens me, you wail him down so far then wham he might kill me in one hit and poof! there go 6 hours wasted. Ok, got it Reverse. terran3999999LOL. sometimes, Reverse wouldn't help much. It'll do attack combos, around 15-20 hits. Reverse doesn't last that long lol. It'll probably kill you at the 15th hit, because that's when Reverse wears off.
Well, if you make it a point to save before that last bit... Six hours wouldn't be wasted :D
