I 'm not sure, but there is a really really high possiblity. I mean, travelling around in an airship, episodes-driven story, and the same producer!

Please don't mention a FFXII game and the sequel to FFX in the same sentence ever again. It is an insult to the brilliant world that Yasumi Matsuno created. I pray that the game will not be an insult to it as well.

I think they should just remove that annoying story completion thing because it forces you to memorize quite too many things which made Final Fantasy X-2 a bit unenjoyable in some parts

Then I'll love it. I loved FFX-2. I don't care what you say. I played it 5 times and it was a great game. People who think it's girly or whatever just can't have fun with an actiony, quirky game. I loved the job system, Dresspheres were fun.

Already given up hope. The characters look way too childish and they say they are implementing new stuff for this game. That means no Gambits and Licenses!!!

The problem I had with X-2 was that it was to un-linear. That probably sound's strange, since the word "Linear" is usually considered bad, but think about it.
If a game is linear you have a good story, you don't wonder around aimlessly, all the side-stories don't tare you away from the main path...

The think I loved in X-2 was the battle system... and nothing more. Soon you realized, that the main story was only 1/10 of the things this game had to offer, and by the time you got from one story part to another, you where already lost in what has happened before and in other places. It's like ready 10 books at the same time. You read one section of each, and then don't remember what was going on in the first -_-
Also, you could go everywhere from the start, and you HAD to, if you wanted 100%. That was time consuming and boring for the most part, and visiting the place was worthwhile only on rare occasions. Not to mention, that you had to do it just to level up and be strong enough to precede the main path.

Seriously, if I see the words "Revenant Wings is for FF XII the same thing FF X-2 was for FF X" I am NOT going to buy it. It would be the first FF I won't have (Excluding FF XI, but that's an MMO >_>).

I got a headache the second I read this... thanks...

The only redeming factor from x-2 was its battle system, everything else was an insult to ff-x and its producers. ff12 revenant wings or whatever it is, for the ds, looks childish, but I won't take that necessarly as being bad, but its not overly promissing either. Guess just have to wait and see, really need more information on the game before making judgement on it.

gambits won't make or break the game keep in mind, its the story, gameplay, dialouge, battles, everything. It would make since to keep them in some form or fashion but it doesn't have to be the same, and probably won't, because of it being on the DS and not the ps2.

This game is being made for the DS, a seemingly childish console so Square themselves said they won't use the Gambits and Licenses plus they game won't have any connections to FFXII. To me those two facts are a major no no.

Exactly. That's what drowned X-2. It only had the battle system -_-

I didn't think the storyline in X-2 was that bad. It was an enjoyable game imo. Could've been much improved and wasn't even close to being as good as X, but it was still fun.

I think the story in FFX-2 was awful! It is the only thing that kept it from being a great FF game for me.

I don't know... I liked the whole Lenn/Shuyin thing. Thought it was sad when they died.... But like I said, it could've been much improved.

But... why did they need to change their art style even for the CGI? Is it because of limitations of the flash card format or the DS hardware? As far as I know CGI movies just takes up space, doesn't require too much l337 hardware to play those.

The better and more detailed you want your CGI to be, the more powerful your system needs to be (and graphical engine).  The CGI of FFIII DS is at about the FFIX leve, and I would venture to guess that it is about as good as the DS will get
