Every past Final Fantasy, [ excluding VII! and X! on that point, oh and XII too, now  ] has all along, well, have an ENDING.

Nowadays, FFs don't end. Well, they do end, and it's best they stop at the primary ending. But, "Some Egoistic" company  instead, decides to create spin-offs, create unnecessary sequels, and create a secondary story that pretty much spoils the primary ending.

Sometimes, i feel infuriated with the way FF has turned into. But, you always want to know what lies beyond the happy ending of FFVIII, don't you? But, hey, isn't it best if we're left to guess. Or, do you think it's best  for the "Some Egoistic" company to set our thinking straight, spare us from our own imagination, and create sequels after sequel after sequel, for a main FF title? :|

I think they should have continued on their path, a new game and a new story. Things the game didn't tell, well that is for us to guess. Not for them to make a new game and tell us. But i do not know. Everyone buys the spin off's anyway right? So a hard thing to say they shouldn't make it. People are buying it anyway  i think:(

I wonder how long it will be before Final Fantasy takes the route of, as a "random" example, Mario. Final Fantasy Soccer anyone? I prefer an original game. Makes it less repetitive and adding too much to the story can ruin and confuse it *cough* Final Fantasy 7 *cough*

Its like your favourite television show that have been on the air for a long time, the longer they stay on the harder it is to come up with good plots so the more they have to rely on  recylced plot lines and dubious stuff and canned applause:P

well i guess they have to carry on with the surprises that they do ... sure i would die to see a sequel for FF VIII , but if they'll make one for sure it must be under the same conditions ,same guys, & of course same gameplay because i don't want to loose the fun the i had experience in the first game ... & I really feel sad to what happened to FF VII specially with Vincent game !
so if they want a sequel that's great ! but a real sequal so you can't tell the difference between but graphically & a very good decent story !

I don't like the unconclusive endings leading to a sequel in the FF series and think they should've stayed with the original formula.

Yeah I want them to come up with a whole new story as well, but instead they do spin-offs because I guess it is easier. Like you already have a storyline built all you need is some more details and you'll have a sequel or a prequel or whatever othe thing they want to do.

The idea of starting a whole new storyline takes time a lot of time because they have to make it good, and now with technology and all they have to also try and improve the graphics and stuff, so I don't blame them when the spin-offs, but maybe after FFXIII they should come up with a whole new concept or they should start now since Ps3 is soon to come.

One of the greatest things about Final Fantasy was that it was one whole epic journey from start to end. From then on, the aftermath was up to you.

Squeenix, should just focus all the time, effort, and money onto original properties. I know they can do this, don't get lazy on us.

Yah ever since Square-sorf became Square-enix they started making sequels to the FF games. It all started with FFX-2, not so good, then the hype of FF VII with advent children and all the new games in line wich only made the value of the game to decrease now another FF XII game! i mean OMFG if they had stopped the sequels with FFX-2 we wouldve been on FF XV by now, new stories, new characters, NEW everything not some new spin-off of an OLD game...

Technically FFXIII series will not be closely intertwined from what I understand. BTW KC I like to have sequels to things I LOVE. If you feel this way turn union control to Darmi if you hate FF now. FFVII: DOC was a good sidestory. It helped to explain Vincents past. Sequels and sidestories give fans more of their favorite games. I hope they keep doing sequels and stuff. If they are good games, regardless of how they are played, and they do not ruin the storyline, then guess what... I WANT NEW STUFF!!! I mean come on seriously. Game series evolve, look at any game with multiple sequels. DMC is changing the main character. If it does not mess up the COMPLETE STORYLINE, then who gives a frickin' care.
