Whos the lead female in ff7? (ye I no ff7 lol)

I just thought, who exactly is the main lead female in FFVII, I mean ye I know she dies an all but she could stil be the main female character. Its odd. I've never thought about this question b4. Tifa or Aeris? Ye Tifa's in it all the way through but shes an ordianry human, Aeris is spiritually in it all the way through lol but is the one that calls holy and Cloud is basically obsessed wiv her al the way through the game. Aeris and Tifa both have qualities the main female usually has. Both in love wiv the lead for one and are both in it from the beginning. Also you play as them both at some point. Tifa for longer but you use Aeris in the Shinra hq. What do you guys think?    

i would say that aeris is the lead female cause first of all the game starts out with a close up of her. And when you really think of the story its more like all the other characters were drawn together to find and help her save the planet. If you notice most of the people that join the group don't much care for the planet (except for Berret) until they meet aeris.

Meh.....I dunno....probably in reality Tifa, however personally I think Aeris attributed more to the plot and was a stronger character.....Tifa however is probably the lead female in the story.....howeverr the presence of two adds alot to the gameplay....
