FiM Japanese dub

So....who's actually looking forward to this?

It could be interesting (and funny) to watch.

If it does take off over there, we may get some pretty cool figures out of it.

I don't see the point in watching it if you already live in a Western country, but nice to see the show expanding into other parts of the world.1PMrFister

Well, we apparently wont be getting season 4 for another 10 months. It could provide a few sh*ts and giggles through the hiatus.

uh, i don't really see the point watching a show with a different language especially ones I don't unerstand.(unless it has subs)

still not a Japanese myself, not my place to say or even watch it. 

Will check it out, for shix and gigs.

Heh, I think some are counting on that (I'm hoping for decent merchandise, personally).

What we can expect from FiM over in Japan, though, really depends on whether or not it takes off with the hardcore anime culture over there.

I've heard supposedly mixed receptions, so.....we'll see.

RD's voice was......interesting (though not wholly unexpected). I'll need to see next episode to give a proper assesment on that (there also seems to have been a few odd cuts in the footage).

Fluttershy can never not sound cute as all hell, it seems. I'm looking forward to seeing how the pull off the songs.

The stream I was on had pretty terrible lag. But as I have every episode downloaded, I bought up VLC player over the top of it and attempted to match the timing with the audio.

Pleasantly surprised. They managed to pull off the song pretty well.

I think AJ is probably the only one who feels slightly off with the voice at the moment, though I definitely think I'm getting more used to Dash's.

Saw the first episode, which I thought was alright. I actually don't mind Rainbow Dash VA, it Applejack that the one that I not a fan of due to the lack of a southern accent, but that might be hard to do over there. It also seems like they had to make some cuts, probably to make space for the longer opening and ending (like they cut out the part where Twilight is thanking those two guards that brought her and spike to ponyville, which for that made the translation from the previous moment to the next look off).Wanderer5

Saw the parts you were talking about, and they also threw out the recap. I didn't have sound, but the cuts in this one didn't look bad, least compare to the cutting the twilight thanks guards while getting out part in the first.

I don't know if my body is ready yet for the rest of the songs... But if that first one is anything to go by, then can't wait. A shame though about those little cuts in some scenes.

Nah, 'gala' pretty specifically refers to an upper class style celebration, usually with a dinner/ball. Dance party is about as far off as they could have gone.
