So what did everyone think of the season finale?
Personally I enjoyed it and manly tears were shed. My only thing was that Luna didn't get any screen time until the end but it was nice to see her and DJ Pony again.
MLP FiM Ep: 25,26. "A Canterlot Wedding" Discussion. *Spoilers*
Part I
Twi's initial freak out was funny, particularly her conversation with that sandwich.
Her song about Shining Armor was cute, but I have a hard time getting over the "He was your only friend for years and you've never once mentioned him before?!" aspect, still doesn't make any sense.
The acronyms were lame. Just saying.
Shining Armor seems like a sort of hopelessly oblivious idiot. The love of your life is replaced and you had no idea?
The flash back with Cadence and Twi might be the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
Luna...well at least she was there.
Spike and the cake figurines was absolutely hilarious, as were Pinkie's party plans.The Mane 6 were frustrating and annoying. Their ignorance was understandable, considering the situation and how excited they all were about the wedding, but have they completely forgotten about the lesson in Lesson Zero? And leaving Twi crying on the floor alone was unforgivable, Celestia's "You have alot to think about." was particularly infuriating. I apologize for this, and I hate using this sort of language, but there's only one way to express how I felt about her then; Celestia go **** yourself.
But I'll give the writers credit, Cadence is a good villain, tricking the other ponies into turning against Twi was a good plan.
Concluding Part I, my anger over the unjust treatment of Twilight overwhelmed any other feelings I had about the episode, I enjoyed it, it was good, but that ending left me seething.
Part II
The intro of Part II immediately rocketed Cadence from good villain to great villain. The best this series has seen yet. Discord was fun in a goofy sort of way, but Cadence was truly menacing, I was honestly worried about what was going to happen to Twi, kudos to the writers.
"This Day Aria" is the best song of the series. The contrasting good/evil theme was executed very well, and the amount of emotion the singers put into it was incredible. All I could think about were the old Disney musicals, this really did reach that level of quality.
Chrysalis is the best villain, simply because she defeated Celestia, who was always seen as an immortal god before now, but Chrysalis defeated her. I knew everything was going to work out in the end, but this had me worried. Once again, kudos to the writers for getting me so emotionally involved in children's cartoon.
Action scenes are something I never thought would work in FiM. Oh how wrong I was. The action was legitimately exciting, but had just enough of this show's characteristic wackiness, wit, charm, and downright cuteness that it fit perfectly, didn't seem forced or out of place at all.
The whole "Love solves everything" was cliche and got a little too close to deus ex machina territory, but it worked. I don't why, it just did.
The wedding was fine. A good conclusion to a great story. I was genuinely happy to see Cadence/Shining Armor have a happy ending, something I never expected to happen. I'm disappointed the exact nature of the relationship between Celestia and Cadence was never explained, but it isn't a deal breaker.
At the end of Part I, I was ready to turn off the TV, at the end of Part II, I was speechless. I loved this finale, it was more than anything I could have hoped for.

Hadn't thought of that. If that's the case, I'll be interested to see what sort of developments we might get in future episodes.
