Any Buying Rules ?

Do any of you guys and gals have any rules when it comes to buying games ? I have a bunch. It's almost a flowchart.

If a game doesn't have a demo available then I look at the developer. If the games of theirs I have played have been given an average score of 8 or higher by me then I will buy it at any price. If the score is lower than 8 then I won't buy it for more than $10 without a demo. If I haven't played any of that developers games and I have nothing else on my wishlist then I will give the game a shot at full price but I give priority to games with demos. 

I have various sorts, yes. A chunk of them apply to retro stuff and hunting though. Rarity vs opportunity, hobby fund, potential longevity, etc. For PC stuff it's another affair, DRM perhaps being at the top of the chain admittedly.

I find most of the games interesting me these days are indie games which rarely have DRM anyway. A lot of mainstream AAA games are just not getting my interest.

Well that also, i really don't like the fact i have to connect to the internet unless i have to like MMO's or multiplayer made games. 

To be fair, do you ever play without being connected? I know the always online feature seems a bit unnecessary, but I know that I'm almost always connected to the internet. The only time I'm not connected for more than 24 hours is when the power goes out.Kman5507

My internet is very stable as well, I oppose the idea on principle. Publishers or developers shouldn't dictate whether I am online. 

Think of a soldier gaming in his down time in Afghanistan or Iraq, not very stable internet there. Also most countries in Central or South America may have a lot more downtime than us. 

This is true. I think I saw someone on reddit who said they were a soldier who is switching to PS4 due to the internet fiasco on xbox.

Of course I'm not sure if Sony confirmed they wouldn't have thatfeature yet.

Yeah lol thanks for noticing that for me. 

If I'm interested in a game and it averages 90+ on metacritic, I normally get it on the first day. If not, I wait for a price drop unless it's a developer I adore.(Kojima Productions, Team Ico)bugbag

I tend not to trust Metacritic too much. 

I like them because of the collective reviews. I don't trust a single review, I prefer to go by the average. Now some of their lower rated games I love, but I still depend on them a bit.:P

The Last of Us is a buy for me.:P

i know, that's what sucks. I still don't get DRM. Why the **** do you need it for singleplayer games like SimCity, Diablo, etc to just play?
