hiya guys, just thought id sho everyone this thing called Parkour (PK for short) sh*t it clicked someting and now it wont stop the italics, oh well. well anyway i thought id sho you guys some stuff about PK cos its totally awesome. PK is ' The Art Of Displacement', which basically means getting from one point to another as quickly as possible, but withput usng much energy. I can be bothered typing up a whole lot about it so heres the Wikipedia link :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour . ive been doing it for about a month now, and i can jump from about 10ft high without hurting myself at all, and i can jump about 8-9 ft forwards and ive started to train in my vertical leap cos itll really help with basketball.

theres also something very similar to PK and its called Free Running, which is more filps and wall runs and stuff, im thinking about getting into free running next.

heres some videos of pro's doing it:

this is one of David Belle, he created PK, i think its a commercial : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAMAr8y-Vtw

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjC11RKtPco&mode=related&search

even tho most of these videos look like movies kind of, theres no special effects used at all, no strings nothing.

How does it work? Isn't it just knowing how to shift your weight at the right time pretty much? And also conditioning.

its ALOT harder than it looks, and those videos dont really sho the difficulty of it. its hard to explain but let me give you and example, if you drop from a ledge that is 3ft off the ground you do an amaizing amount of damage to your joints, if you weigh about 70kg ( i dont know pounds so w/e) and you do a 3ft drop your adding 210 kg's of weight to your body (to find out how much weight you add all you do is multiply your weight by the height of the drop)  and all that weight is destroying your joints. what parkour does is it trains you to put less weight and strain on your joints, therefore you can jump from larger heights without hurting yourself. its also a very mental exeercise too, you have to think very fast and kno your limits. believe me its alot harder than it looks, those videos dont give it justice.

oh and in Casino Royale they used Free Running not Parkour.
