A Link to the PAst in 3D, What are your thoughts?

It seems Mr. Aonuma is very interested in creating a 3D remake of one of the greatest games of all itme (much less being one of the best examples of a 2D game done right). There's very little information but all we know right now is that he's thinking about this possibility. Check it out here.

So what are your thoughts if this interest of Aonuma became a reality? Do you think it's a good idea? And how would you like to see it done? Perhaps, with a fixed-camera view or better yet what if the remake was done on the DS thus allowing for some touch screen experimentations. What are your thoughts?

A Link to the Past is a nearly perfect game, and without exageration my most favourite game on any platform ever created. Yes, it would be possible to create a solid, perhaps even great, copy of LttP in 3D, but why spend that kind of development time on a game that we have already played and really cannot be improved upon in many ways?

Spend the money and time on something new for the fans, or redo something that many people have not played, such as the original Zelda, or the Adventure of Link.

Actually, they could always make another Zelda Series with two seperate games, like maybe make some gold Zelda version and Silver Zelda version. :D

Now that is a solid idea.

The Oracle games are probably some of the most underplayed Zelda games out there. They were fantastic games as well, but they are obscure, a remake with both of Oracle games combined into 1, maybe cutting out a few of the not-so-important parts of each game to keep it in the normal play time range, I think we would have a winner of a game.

LttPis great as it is and I don't think that you need to remake it. People should play the original (especially now that you can download it on the virtual console). The two oracles could be good as a remake just because they are a bit obscure. I think that a new game would be a better idea though.

There could be serious consequence w/ messing w/ such a great game from the serious Loz fan base. If they do a great job I'd buy it

I agree that there is little wrong with the idea of a remake, however I also believe that an original game is a much better way to spend development time.

if a remake is what they want, i think it might be a god idea. i have the game, never finished it though, dunno why...just lost interest. it was a good game, i REALLY dont know why i stopped playing. maybe after my second playtrhough of KH2 i'll start it back up. great...another distraction away from VP2 :P

a remake of Link's Awakening would be neat. i for one really liked that game. haha or maybe they could remake the CD-i screw ups and maybe redeem their shame :lol:

I hate it when that happens. Losing intrest in a game is always a serious matter for me. Because I have so many games to play right now, if something becomes too much of a hassle I run the risk of trying a new game, I get addicted to it, put the old game on the backburner and forget about it, then the cycle repeats.

The oracle games have proably the most potential in terms of Visual effects. Just picture watching th escenery go from fall to winter at the wave of a wand. The Three-D animal companions would be fun (I'm thinking of the right game right?) and would be a decent Three-D game otherwise
