Every time I've played Ocarina of time (about 5 or 6 times) the first thing I do upon becoming an adult is get the hookshot, then immediatly get the Blue Tunic and I never take it off except for the the fire dungeon. I also wear the hover boots as soon as In get them for the rest of the game.
So clothes yes, I do love to costumize them and I actually prefer the blue tunic. However I'm not as big on the idea of being able to customize his physical appearance. Link is Link; if you could customize him it wouldn't be him. You would just have a nameless character of your own creation who's default name is Link.
I think they need to integrate the fairy into the story more than Ocarina and that would be fine. Kind of like how they did Tatl in Majora's Mask; that girl had spunk (and personality unlike some fairys).
I think that Links appearance needs to be kept intact to keep the story in line, or at least have a reason for why he CAN change his appearance. Like a rod of transforming into a shrub... or something.
It would be neat to customize Link, but after a while he would stop looking like himselfVelociBlade
i dont want the customization to be like u can change every thing. just choose young or adult link, color of tunic, fairy or no, what kinda sword he has. but like u said i dont want him to look like a completly different person than the versions weve seen before.Â

That's my worry as well. Link is a distinctive character with distinctive looks. You can't change them significantly or he loses his familiarity. You might as well be playing an Elder Scrolls game with a nameless character. With a character as iconic as Link you need to keep his appearance standard with only minor alterations through gameplay (such as, clothes, swords and tunics).

Exactly, m_d. I don't see why you would want to customise Link, he is an iconic character. Although I almost always wear the hero mask in WW (it is hero, right?) and the masks in Ocarina. :P
There is no point in changing his age, or if he owns a horse (waht, that one made no sense), or anything else. You always have reasons in the zelda games to switch forms if you are able to.
I wouldn't mind having a few more items,(I mean clothing or accessories) with abilities, that you couldn't wear all at once. So you could chose for looks and an difference in your style. Sort of like in RPGs. This is not neccesary, though. There is already some of this going on.Â
