I've taken this from an article from CVG (computerandvideogames.com)

"While Mario and the Revolution linger provocatively on the horizon, there's one highly anticipated GameCube title preparing to charge defiantly down the hill toward expectant gamers, albeit looking slightly flushed for missing its train and turning up late. Miyamoto sends out a plea for patience amongst Zelda fans, frothing at the mouth over The Twilight Princess' recent delay. The big man is eager to stress that the wait will be worth it, promising the best Zelda title ever, and more intriguingly the very last time we'll see Link and his cheeky green tunic as we know them:

"This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form. I worked on it personally, more so than Wind Waker! I haven't invested as much into any game as I have this one. Our goal was to make the best Zelda game ever - the most rich, satisfying and melancholy. We've really improved it in just a few months. Everything's coming together much quicker. We may have some last minute ideas..."

This mean that zelda games will never be the same

This isn't anything to get all depressed about. Shiggy could have said the same thing back when he was working on Ocarina of Time. He's just saying that Twilight Princess will be the last one to use the current system, and after it we will have a new setup. Don't get all worried that it won't be any good any more just because it's different. As long as Shiggy himself keeps Zelda under his proverbial wing, it will rule all.

yeah, but it did seem that he was wanting to become less involved, but now it seems he really wants to control it, which is good.

I think it's good that this will be the last Zelda game in it's form. It's good that they're changing it up with each new game, after all it keeps the series fresh and enjoyable with out becoming too predictable and stale.

That can interpreted many different ways. Miyamoto would be just plain crazy to change Zelda so much and alienate longtime fans of the series. It has to be in same way shape or form similar to the ones before it. If you compare a Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time a lot of things changed but both games still kept the overall feel of a Zelda game. He probably just means that the new Zelda on the Revolution will be played a little differently to take advantage of what the Revolution has to offer to gaming that no other console will be able to do or at least that's my take on it.

I'm not really agrueing and thats not really what you said at all. You said the revolution will change everything. I'm implying that the new Zelda game for the Rev can only be so much different and still be called Zelda.

Why would they want to get rid of the Master Sword? It's been a bit of a key element. Unless all the future Zeldas are going to take place after Wind Waker, and the Sword stays lodged in Ganondorf's skull at the bottom of the ocean, I wouldn't see that happening.

It means that it will be the last zelda game using the current controller set up because the revolution's is going to bring something new to the table and the new zelda games will use it.

Maybe be the next one will be a WW sequel and because the Master Sword is stuck at the bottom of the ocean Link will use the Four Sword from now on. The way I see it the sequel will be about Link and friends reaching a new and vast land, and a whole new adventure.BTW MS +bottom of ocean probably=MS replacement.

WW sequeal will be for DS, and considering that A Link to the Past is the last game chronilogically Hyrule must get draind, and the master sword get back in the forrest somehow.

Actually according to EGM back in 1998 Zelda II: The Adventures of Link is the last game chronologically. A Link to the Past took place 100 years before the games on the NES, and that took place a few hundred years after OoT and MoM. EGM did a timeline of the series back when OoT was about to be released, and that is how the timeline stood at that point. In either case Hyrule gets drained and flooded again, because in the original there are some islands, and in Zelda II therre seems to be that Island kind of motif going on.

Actually that would be a good idea for a thread. To put everything in chronological order as it happened in that universe.

It means one of these:
-It will be the last one on a standard controller
-It will be the last one to not use Revolutions features
-It will be the last one without online content or downloadable stuff

I would rather not see Zelda start using decision trees. That's the path to the dark side. And by Dark Side, I mean RPG. Zelda should not be an RPG, as we all remember AoL. But seriously, why would we want to give Link the chance to develop into an evil character? He's the frikkin Hero of Time!

1. frikkin is FRICKIN if your using slang or if your not its FREAKING!

b. Link might not need decision trees maybe hell learn new techniques by the way he fights! or something like that!

3. i remember aol! and america online zelda aol! would of been better if it was released on this generation!

d. Link is also the hero of winds! your point?

5. SHUT UP!

f. how about the same concept as Shadow the hedgehog or Sonic adventure 2? play as one of ganons evil monsters or tingle! they are both evil

7. what if link could lead a squad of tingles? (I NEED TO STOP THINKIN ABOUT TINGLE)
