HaHa, keep sifting through those revs of his, if it makes you feel better:), funnily enough i just been on the review page and clicked on Watch it, thinking that if i saw it again i could take in the enormity of his crap review (no doubt), but then i saw that pic of him and then fought against the idea, :)i cannot wait for the next OTS because you can be sure the matter is going to be raised, whether by his colleagues-or-via the countless Deku nutz such as myself who will E-mail, or indeed the new found legion of Wii fans, personally i hope he gets a roasting by all on the show.LS-- just to see his line of verbal defense:)

Well Jeff is a great journalist, but this Zelda thing, I don't think he handles that franchise.Handle the Franchise- he is their to review a game a single game, and he is supposed to review this game without tainting his perceptions with similar thoughts he may of had about those previous titles in the series. Well obviously I have been wrong in thinking that games were a hobby, something to do for fun. Its painfully obvious that you guys are taking this hella serious. ITS JUST A REVIEW. Who cares what one guy thought of the game. I mean your all going to play it right? So what is the problem. I mean seriously, Every time a highly anticipated game comes out and it gets a good but not great score, there's some Fan boy's (In which this case I classify myself as a fan boy of Zelda) that have a problem with it.
For an example Halo 2 got a 9.4, And Halo fans went berserk because of it. Its very disheartening when i have to think that the biggest problem in our lives is a damn video game review. So I come to you with a suggestion, Don't take it to heart, its one mans review, It doesn't effect your enjoymeant of the game one bit.
I hate the fact that my first couple of posts in this union are going against the proverbial grain, But seriously, Reviews are meant to help you get an opinion of the game, not for you to get angry over because it wasn't what you expected.
you are a sensible person. i salute you.Well obviously I have been wrong in thinking that games were a hobby, something to do for fun. Yeah I guess you could say that :P, But that always seems to give people a bad impression of me.

Yeah I agree with you, just because it got a lower score than people anticipated, all hell breaks loose. I believe its all about bragging rights so, for example if TP got 9.8 then you would see loads of "OMG ZELDA TP OWNS GEARS OF WAR!!!!1!!" crap on system wars, but I guess its the other way round. No review should ruin how a player enjoys his or her game.
Jeff Gerstman, our beloved reviewer and GameSpot staff member has done a fine job in his assessment of both Majora's Mak and Twilight Princess. [/sarcasm]
He has failed to realize what Majora's Mask had improved on and failed to realize the overall excellence of Twilight Princess.
The very same elements that are in Majora's Mask that are improved on or added has lead to many fans actually favouring Majora's Mask over Ocarina of Time. It is easily noticeable if taken the time. It's a problem in staff reviews. They ultimately rush the game to get their review out to the public and end up missing key elements that could possibly have made their score more identical to those of the gaming community.
In the case of Twilight Princess. I don't think he is giving enough credit to the game as it plays on the Wii. What may seem tacked-on can actually be something of a neat feature that utilizes the Wii without discouraging fans. Same with the sound. What may seem as recycled may actually be an overall fitting theme for the game. Which is possible considering it is a Legend of Zelda game. However this is all a matter of opinion.
It is disappointing that he's missed out on a lot of what both respective games offer but after all is said and done. It's only one person and their opinion. That's all a review truly is. He did have his reasons which can support his overall negative views whether we agree or not. At least he had something to support his score. It's not the end of the world. We're all going to buy Twilight Prciness and will most likely have a hell of a ride and may end up writing our own reviews. That better represent the game's true superiority. Just remember many games have fallen to poor reviewing on GameSpot. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Soul Calibur II and Tales of Symphonia are some of them. But that didn't stop their fans and it shouldn't stop you.
Continue to anticipate your upcoming experience and if you're one of the lucky ones that have Twilight Princess, be sure to enjoy it to the fullest extent posible. :)
