I'll play the GC version first, so I can play TP (which already looks to be the greatest Zelda ever) in the classic format I know and love.  Once I get a Wii (since I won't get one right at launch most likely), I'll play TP that way.

By the way, I personally don't think is neccessarily the 'real' way to play TP.  TP isn't the 'real' Wii Zelda game.  That game is still a long ways off, and it will have more than just fishing and bow and arrow controls.  That one will be the 'real' revolution.  This is just a appetizer.

Game Cube version.

The game was originally meant to be played on the Game Cube with a regular controller.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Like I mentioned over in the other thread which asked what version you will get, I will most likely end up getting both versions... and if that does end up happening I would play through the Gamecube TP first simply for the reason that Gary stated.

I'm not sure, I mean, if you have both, that means you probably have a Wii... So wouldn't you want to play that? I think I'd play through the Wii version first then through the Gamecube just to compare (and decide what I like better)...

On the other hand... I think it might be easier to get into the Gamecube version with the more classic controls. Where as you'd need to get used to the nunchuk/wii-mote before you'd start fully enjoying the game. I guess I will see when the day comes.

Personally, I don't think I will buy both. I just don't know which one I will like better yet. I'm thinking I would like to play it with the Gamecube because I like the control scheme how it is, but I don't want to miss out on anything either. How much will you be missing if you don't play the Wii version? I guess we will have to wait and see...

If I could really only get one at release, probably the Wii version.  I want to use my new Nintendo Wii for something, I can always go back and play the GC version later :D.

No one said it had better control! It's just that the control is new, cool, and innovative! (Nintendo's trademark)

Perhaps the full TP experience can only be had by playing both versions? To compare and such.

Actually I was just thiking about that.
I want to play the Wii version first for the features since almost everybody says its the real Zelda experience and playing the Gamecube will only ruin the joy of playing it a different way for the first time and not knowing the story...

...On the other hand I want to play it the old way because I love how the fighting system in Windwaker felt and TP will probably be similar.

THE WII VERSION FIRST!

I will be buying both versions, but I'll be playing the GC one first simply because I probably won't be completely used to the Wii's controller and I'll go with the GC version first so I can go through without any problems. After that I'll do the Wii version.

I really want to play the game when it comes out.
But since there will be 2 versions I think I will wait for the reviews to see which one people think is better.
I'm sure the game will be amazing on both systems though.
But since the game was originally designed for the GC I think I'm leaning that way.
At least for now.

Good luck getting the game anytime soon if you don't get it on the day it launches.:P The game will most likely be difficult to find on both systems due to the large hype surrounding it.

The only reason people will be in line is to get their preorders !

and then the game will be out of stock and the people without the abilty to preorder will feel like losers of the century!

GC wanna get in the special OoT'ish mood. Then the Wii version. But the real question is: Which one is the one you are gonna play through all the mini quests and finish it 100%? Thats my problem Wait wait wait, I just read that both version wil be exactly the same except the control scheme. I was under the impression there was some kinda bonus to the Wii Version. So would it not be possible to just be able to play the Wii one with a GC controller? In that way I would only need one save game, and be able to switch and try out different stuff

I can see where you are coming from with that whole idea, but I don't think that is going to be possible. The reason is simply because they made each version specifically tailor made for the console that it will be on. So basically the Gamecube version will obviously only use the Gamecube controller setup, while the Wii version will only use the whole "Wii-mote" setup throughout the game.
