If she is indeed the Twilight Princess then she would not exist in Hyrule, she would come from the Twilight Realm. Perhaps she will change shape when entering Hyrule, that's if she can actually go to Hyrule.
I read somewhere (IGN probably) that a lot of people think that Midna is Link's shadow in the real world. There is no truth behind this yet, but that's what Ive heard. She probably plays a similar part to Navi in Ocarina of Time.
well in an interview in nintendo power it said she dissapears when you leave the twilight realm, and re-apears when you enter again, so that implies that she does go into the real world as something small. also not all hylians turn into animals when they enter the twilight realm. they have only shown zelda in the twilight realm.
