Off-Topic Nintendo Wii

I can't not believe this is actually happening to us.:o  This is just great, Nintendo just gave Sony and Microsoft their one and only thing they needed to take us out of the market.:x  What are we supposed to say to our friends "Sorry guys can't hang out tonight because I'm playing with my new Wii I just got" ???:? I don't care if it's even gonna be printed on the casing, it's still the revolution.8) Seriously though, what were they thinking? Has this company ever taken a marketing class, scratch that, it would be common sense not to call it that.:x Yes, they might not live in the U.S. but they got to predict whats going to happen if they call it that. :evil:The U.S. has got to be one of there biggest hit spots for systems right? Yeah I know where you're coming from, I was thinking that as well. If the name doesn't grow on me I'll just call it the revolution as well, doesn't really matter though.

The name actually isn't bothering me that much. If I ever talk about it with my friends, I will just call it the Revolution.

 I don't think the name will hurt them, it seems wii will just have to get used to it.

You know its not the fact that the name sucks but the fact that they are going die out because the name is everything. And yes they probably now a lot about marketing, but they are making some really stupid mistakes. In the last three years the only smart thing they've done is make the system cheaper then all the others, but they were the last to release their last system, they keep on modifying their handhelds and they are now going to all the Revolution the Wii? Yeah. Personally I think they are just going off of their own personally thoughts instead of truly thinking of their customers which I hate to say, is the most important thing in marketing.:P

Nintendo may be last in terms of this generation of console wars, yet they still made money...

The name for the Nintendo 64 was worse, yet it was not a factor in how it did.

Nintendo knows what its doing. History has taught us that the name of the system does not matter, the games will decide each systems fate.

True. I believe what the Gamespot editors are saying that the name may sound funny now but we will eventually grow to accept it. I did like the Revolution though.
