When I was voting for the top Zelda games I saw lots of people chose to include Oracle of Ages but not Oracle of Seasons. This kinda surprises me because I find it difficult to pick a superior between those two. Is it a general consensus that OoA was better? Really, I see them as the same game, just split into two parts. Compare it to the two parts to OoT: finding the three sacred stones, and then the five sages. (I know those aren't exactly equal halves, but bear with me.) To get the full Oracle experience you needed to play both games and then play the extra part that explained both. What do you all think?

I view the games as interchangable, they were fun, but I don't remember what's in which one, since I played them so close together

Maybe they enjoyed Oracle of Ages more then Seasons or they might of meant both but just forgot to write it down.

Yup :). If you played both you have the ability via pascode to link the two games and play the games final level and beat the REAL villian behind everything. I wonder who that villian is....:P

Anyway you should pick up the games nuck, they are very good for the GBC age.

I've only played OoA and I hate it. Probably the third worst Zelda game. I haven't yet played OoS but even if it is as bad as Ages (I'm not forming an opinion yet) I still plan on getting it some time.

I posted Oracle Of Ages by chance. So it doesnt really matter becuase both of them are really almost the same thing (not quite but you get my point) and we need both to experience the full story.

Also another reason i only posted one of the Oracles is because i didnt want to exclude other game of the series. If you notice each game made a little contribution to the Zelda we know now. And of course we had to post the recent Zelda games.

That is true but, if I was to pick one over the other I would have to say OoA. It was a bit more challenging and I liked the dungeons better.

I only thought of them as good because they were made for a portable system. It was mainly just a novelty of playing Zelda in the car.

they weren't the first portable zelda, I thought that they were genuinely good, they didn't live up to the other zelda games, but they weren't bad.

LA was the first handheld Zelda game, and it wasnt so bad but it was more like a riddle game. In those times i didnt know much english so i had to have a dictionary at my side.

I have just bought OoA and it is great, the gameplay easily makes up for its now out-dated graphics. Now I have to somehow get hold of OoS aswell.

I actually bought OoA off of one of my brothers friends for like $15 I think. But it wasn't even his to sell. It was his cousin's:roll:. After I beat it, I had to go buy OoS to complete the experience.

I thought they were basically even, but if you like puzzle elements more than fighting elements, I can see why somebody would like Ages more. Personally, those two games were probably my least favorite of the 10 mainstream games anyway.

I liked them a lot more than zelda 2, maybe that's because I only played it for about 20 minutes, but I hated it. Maybe it would have been easier to get into, if the first time I played it wasn't less than a year ago. The original even when playing it for the first time now it has the gameplay to compensate for the crappy graphics.

no the original is good, nice and hard (you don't have anyone giving you directions at all). I haven't finished it yet, but it's worth playing, even though it may burn your eyes a little bit.

Not really, Both OoA and OoS could each be played alone. Both games offered different overworlds, characters, items, dungeons etc.

Yes both games still hold up well today. I personally enjoyed OoA better because it was a little more difficult. Starting a game in OoS and continuing your quest in OoA is the way to go. I beat both games with the link feature and got the "real" ending.

HEY, you should let him experience the game by himself. (good april fools joke).

But anyway if you want to play it go ahead, just dont buy it, rent it or something. Or if you want to fill up your Zelda collection, buy it. Its up to you.

What i know is that i am going to buy the remake for GBA, just to fill my collection and actually try it.

I will probably do that aswell, when I get some money anyway. I've just spent it all buying OoA, ALttP, MC, and a gamecube so I can get WW and Zelda '05.

the passwords are used to connect the two games, and I believe that the snakes are different options. one of them is inventory, and the other is password input. it's been quite a while since I played them.

I am also going to buy the GBA port of Zelda 2 just so I have it in my collection and so I can see just how it is. I did the same thing with the original Zelda. Though it was a good game, I can't say I really enjoyed because the graphics realy did hurt, and it was just so difficult to work with! No save points, no directions, no warp points...
As for the snakes in the Oracle games, I think you're right about them. I remeber one is used for passcodes, but I really can't remember what the other one did.
