Originally when they were first creating the Oracle games, there were supposed to be 3 games and one of them was supposed to be a remake of the very first NES Zelda. Later on Nintendo decided that a 3 game adventure was probably too much so they cut it down to the 2 games we have now.

I just thought there was another game in the same vein and style as OOT/OOS that was being made but it was apparently supposed to be a stand alone title and it never got released. If I can remember correctly it was called Legend Of Zelda : Fruits of the Mysterious Tree....

hmm. ok well I think that is all. there was one in the making, is no more, and so the idea ends. to prevent sparn from people like 'imnotwhite' let's lock it. if a mod learns something or someone else, he/she can report it and we know it will be in something like the OT thread. so can I get a lockoway?

Fruits of the Mysterious Tree was just one of the original subtitles that was eventually changed into Oracle of Ages/Seasons. They are essentially the same games.

My understanding was that Capcom was planning a trilogy of Oracle games, but due to problems with password system (too complex and difficult with three games involved) and time constraints, it was changed to two.
