Eiji has directed every Zelda since OoT,  a game Directed and Produced By the Miyamoto  god Himself and Eiji has not made a game which has  surpassed it since then! what do you think will happen to the Future of the Legend of Zelda series? (I had a much longer rant about this but I accidentally deleted it,  shame it was really, really good but this about sums it up!)                                                                                                                                                            I personally think the next one will be alot of Miyamoto directing, and it Will end up being the Best and Last Zelda that Miyamoto will create. Eiji will probably continue the series after Miyamoto retires or moves to President of Nintendo.

I'm not really sure on what Miyamoto's current role at Nintendo is, he seems to act as a producer and consultant in most of the larger projects undertaken by Nintendo. Supposedly though, Miyamoto is very involved in the production of Super Mario Galaxy. The next Zelda will be Phantom Hourglass which, due to being a portable game, probably won't be remembered as the greatest of the Zelda games. Although it remains to be seen whether a Zelda game can fully surpass Oot for the coveted moniker of best in series, the other Zelda games are still crafted with the highest of quality and are simply amazing games in their own right.

Well, actually, OoT is just ALttP in 3D and on a slightly smaller scale. So, he would be trying to surpass ALttP, the biggest and first story-driven Zelda game ever.

And he would fail.

I think that Ocarina of Time will always be a great game, and there will be more. Nothing that will fail the Zelda legacy, but it will be better than Ocarina of Time. I mean, Ocarins of Time was a great game [and still is :D ] but it had room for improvement. The graphics weren't perfect, and I know back then that was the best but, now we can fill that little space for improvment and make some more Zelda games. Basically no one succeeds and no one fails :D

I've always thought that OoT was, and still is, the greatest LoZ title ever, thought there are some what come almighty close ot beating it (ALttP etc). I'm still going to stick with my statement until it is beaten, not matched...beaten!

So your saying that Ocarina of Time is the greatest Zelda game ever and it can never be beaten? If Twilight Princess wasn't so much like Ocarina of Time [intro. cut scene, dungeons, etc.] then it would have been perfect, possibly matching--or beating, the classic Oacarina of Time

Very true! If Tp had been a bit more diverse  and harder it would have beater OoT! But you have to admit that TP had some of the most intuitiveideas that were'nt fully realized! I would have liked to  have the fire temple have Every room with magnets and you would have to do the bottom floor  of the du ngeun to get the Iron boots and then once you got it would do the top of the dungeun!

No, I'm not saying OoT never be beaten just that, in my opinion, it is the greatest LoZ game to date. It can be beaten, and probably will be sooner or later, TP could have beaten it if, like you mentioned, it had implemented a bit more of its own - not taking ideas from OoT and putting them in TP.

Twilight Princess has brought me to the realization that for most of us, there won't be a game that surpasses OoT. A perfect 10 is an amazing score, but I truly believe that OoT deserved every ounce of it. For gamers that don't play OoT first (maybe start with WW or TP) the newer Zelda titles may appeal to the more, but I know for me personally I doubt a game will ever surpass the standard that OoT set.

I hope they quit trying to beat OoT. Major problem about TP is that the game doesn't bring anything to the series. It's an awesome game, but I dont want to do ALTTP for a 4th time (or OoT for the 3rd), we need something truely new or the series will die... Ejii did a great job with TWW and MsM, I think he's bringning what the series needs.

I honestly have no problem wit each game copying OoT, but the series won't die until Nintendo does.

Oh yeah, and f the dungeons in Twilight Princess were a bit challenging and less like the order of Ocarine of Time [Forest, Fire, Water Temple, then the 12 temple but in this case...other things  ] then it would've been more...awsome  But it is still awsome and if Nintendo knew this information and more, I think they can make an unbeatable Zelda game. All they have to do if out the same time and effort they put into Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, and games would be selling out worldwide :D

Nintendo needs to stop trying to outdo themselves. Seriously, there's only so much they can do to make a game better if it just follows the same formula as OOt. Pretty soon they'll have to change it up so it doesn't get stale. Which they said they would (at least that's how I interpreted the "last of its kind" quote). Does anyone agree with me on this? Or do you all just want a "more realistic Zelda" still?

We expect about 3-4 years between Zelda titles, so all that means is that it'll probably come out in about 2 1/2 years. Don't get your hopes too high, we've still got a long wait.

The way I look at it, it's better to wait 2-3 years than 1-1.5 years for a LoZ title...at least that way you, hopefully, know that it is going to be a quality LoZ title.

OoT is one of the best Zelda games ever made I think(haven't tried TP yet)
and in the future I hope they spend 2-3 years on Zelda game and don't rush them out.

Totally agreed. If Zelda Nintendo made their Zelda games quickly, then it wouldn''t succeed in either quality [graphics, storyline, etc.] or quantity [how much dungeons, weapons, bosses, etc.]
