I excluded obvious choices like Link's sword or any musical instrument like the Ocarina of Time to make things more fair.

For me I would have to say the hookshot. I don't know why that is exactly but maybe it's because its my favorite weapon.

Definately the bow for me, It's (for me) the most fun weapon and there are so many different ways to use it.

I go for the Hookshot. It is extremely useful not only to reach other areas but it can attack as well, paralyzing enemies and stuff.

I found the hookshot to be generally, more useful, although all of those items were at one point or another. I'm surprised the Boomerang wasn't up there, I liked that item.

I voted for the Boomerang, because, it can pick up things from a distance, stuns your enemies, it can reach long distances.

I'd say the hookshot. It's just just plain cool, as well as being able to do things like stun enemies, retrieve items, and pull you to out of reach areas. Not to mention, it's the only item that could be used underwater ( at least in OOT, with the aid of the iron boots.)
