you know when you start a new game in Zelda (i dont know if this applies to ALL zelda games..but i'm sure at least to OoT) and you know how that name you input is going to be Link's name too in dialogue right? ....well my question is...what do you put? Let me narrow it down to Ocarina of Time OR Majora's Mask ( <-- don't know if this applies).
I remember i put my name in (because i had no idea they're going to use it in text dialogues...since it was my first time playing a zelda game)...in OoT and when i read the dialogue outloud it sounded...a bit weird....:?
NEXT time though, i put in "Lil Link"....sound much better than my name... SO what did you put in yours (what did you name your save file)?
I used the name LINK (all caps) the first time I played OoT. After playing it to the Temple of Time, when I was supposed to pull the Master Sword from its pedestal, the caps thing started to bug me and I started over with Link. And I've been using it ever since.
Actually, I used my real name for the Minish Cap but that's the only other exception.
I also like to name him idiot, or a similar word. because then they all insult link. I don't know if that would still be fun, but it was when I first played OoT.
I normally use Link as my name for roleplaying purposes. The only exception to this was when I played The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. If you used the name "ZELDA" you got alternate music, so my second play through I was named ZELDA.
I also used to put LINK, but that got annoying so I now put Link. My brother, on the other hand, would would use one of the names he made up for characters in the stories he used to write. He doesn't play Zelda any more though, sadly. Also, about that alternate music, that's cool, I didn't know about it. I actually have a file on there named ZELDA, but I didn't notice different music. Maybe it needs to be "Zelda"...
When I was younger I used to name every videogame character (that I could) after myself. But I grew out of that and started using default names for characters. So anyway I guess that means I use "Link" in every new Zelda game I start.
The first time I played a LoZ games was when I was about 5. Hense my name was BQB (yes with the Q :D) When I got older I spelled my name corectly, and after OoT I have always called my character Link (to go along better with the story).
Woodle. This is copied straight out of my journal so it may include other info. I as first introduced when My grandmother bought me an n64 at a yard sale. she had seen I had loved my sega genesis so she bought me it with a game. Ocorina of time. the prievious user had named there character woodle. I now use that name for every first play on a new zelda. any way, I couldn't figure out the first temple for the life of me. I couldn't find where to jump on the spider net. After 2 months I had finnaly beaten the first temple.
I pretty much stuck with using the name "Link" in all of the games... and rarely ever used my real name. The only times that I actually put "ZELDA" as the name was in the first LoZ for the NES to start off playing the second quest, and in Link's Awakening just for the alternate music.
I always name my characters kame. (all with small caps). I really like that word, and the meaning EDIT: kame is the japanese for turtle, although it's a very old word and I think it's not used anymore. I borrowed it from Dragon Ball: Kame sen nin.
I think that from now on I might use Link, because I only use Talon to seperate my game from other's games, but my sister uses Jory, so if I used Link it would still have a different name. too bad I probably won't remember this.
