Colt Brennan is doing fine, but did not suit up for practice. No throwing, no pads, no running, just watching. Colt Brennan recalled that he never remembered the hit, he did not know what was going on. He walked out of Aloha Stadium on his two feet saturday night. "I dont blame no one for the hit" Brennan said. "It was clean and well played." He will make up his mind come game time if he will play or not at Nevada, a place the Warriors never won since joining. Inoki Funaki was seen taking snaps with the 1st team offense. But you will be seeing Tyler Graunke play as well. If Colt Brennan plays, he will go into the game tied with Ty Detmer's all time career passing TD.

Yep, just like I thought: he sustained a concussion.

"I dont blame no one for the hit" Brennan said. "It was clean and well played."

Clean? Hitting someone so hard they sustain a concussion is clean? Wow, he must still be a bit woozy. No way was that hit clean. Nor was it well-played. Good tackles can be made without jacking someone up.

^It's not like he tried to hurt him. It was clean and well played. When you go for big hits, you usually try for a forced fumble. Not for huge highlights and trying to hurt someone. Now if you wanted to hurt one, there are more effective ways to do that.

I understand, but I don't believe the motive should matter. The point is that FSU player knew the possiblity of injuring Brennan with a hit of that magnitude existed, yet he followed through with the hit anyway. The other point is that Brennan did end up getting hurt. That's why hits of that magnitude should be outlawed, regardless of motive.

After seeing this hit, Brennan should have slid, which is what most QB's do. Would you want your players to let up if there's a chance that he'll injure the other player, of course not.

OMG who cares? These guys play one of if not the most dangerous sport in the world! When I played I played for the big hits. If the person got hurt whatever, I could care less. I was kicked off my team for that mind set. And why? Because I like hitting people? To remove big hits from a game, THIS game, is dumb. There's always a chance someone could get hurt regardless of the "magnitude" of the hit. I'm so extremely tired of people retarding football and making it into a punk sport it seems now. Sure it protects the players, but for the most part these players love the dangerous aspect of the game.

Besides that, the hit was clean it was not helmet-to-helmet. If you watch the clip he hits Brennan with his chest while exploding with his arms not his head although it is close. And like someone else stated if he wanted to hurt Brennan he most definitly could have.

OMG who cares?

Many folks around the nation.

To remove big hits from a game, THIS game, is dumb.

Really? Okay, go say that to former players who have had their careers ended due to morons thinking the definition of tackling is smashing someone. When the game of football first started out, there weren't pads or helmets or anything, but none of that stuff was worn because it wasn't needed. The game wasn't meant to be violent, and wasn't violent when it first started out, so why should it be violent now?

I'm so extremely tired of people retarding football and making it into a punk sport it seems now.

OMG, who cares? And "punk sport"?

but for the most part these players love the dangerous aspect of the game.

Yeah, I doubt that.

Your argument is so full of holes its rediculous, because of that I'll just say this: Go outside with your friends play a game of football without pads and tell me that isn't violent. Better yet go play rugby and tell me thats not violent. The game was made to hit people not touch them and say "Jolly good run chap"

Football is a punk sport now with all the new rules and regulations they come up with every year (Good example: All of the time changes to speed up the game) The game has been taken out of players hands and put into the grasps of the officials.

I love how it's always the other peson who's argument is not very good.

Go outside with your friends play a game of football without pads

Already have. Suffered a concussion because of doing that, too. Anyway, what does that have to do with anything?? Football without pads doesn't equal football with pads.

Better yet go play rugby and tell me thats not violent.

Again, what does rugby have to do with football? Nothing. Two completely different sports. And then you claim my argument is flawed. Cool.

The game was made to hit people not touch them and say "Jolly good run chap"

Wrong. The game was made for both. That's why touch football exists.

Rugby is very similar to football, in case you haven't notced, and I don't know you couldn't have. Except rugby has a sphere with no pads. I don't know how you don't know that.

Also, he who doesn't like big hits is he who does not like entertainment. Big hits are simply a part of the game. Just like fumbles and interception. Get over it now...

i love rugby, i always watch these samoan kids playing it at the park... its pretty cool, and way better than football. NO PADS BRAH! and Hawaii has there own style of American Football, its called Hawaiian Football :P its football with no rules, plays like rugby but u gotta keep on passing and passing and passing, you gotta wear slippahs or no footwear cuz, no field length, tackle, do whatever you can to take him down. scoring is either a tree to one tree.

Very similar? No way. Relatively similar? Somewhat. Other than running around with, and kicking around, a ball, there are no other distinct similarities. The rules alone, which encompass issues regarding equipment, style of play, scoring, etc, completely differ the sport from American football. And don't even begin to attempt to treat me as if you know what I do and do not realize. Of course I realize the similarities and differences between the two sports. You amuse me by assuming you know my thought processes.

Also, he who doesn't like big hits is he who does not like entertainment. Big hits are simply a part of the game.

Oh really? Just like he who laughs last is the slowest? Both statements are completely incorrect and absurd. Again, you deem it necessary to assume my likes and dislikes. Good one. And big hits are simply part of the game, are they? Yes, just like fatal and non-fatal spinal injuries caused by big hits are part of the game.

Get over it now...

My, my, quite the attitude. I'm not sure if you are aware, but you are the one who turned my discussion with other people into an argument between you and I by insulting me with your "OMG, who cares?" crap. If you don't want to be called out on the carpet by people, then think twice before insulting them. I'll get over this waste-of-time argument when you apologize. Until then, I disregard your demands.

Football is by nature a violent sport. Injuries happen. The guy wasn't trying to hurt him. Trying to demonize the defender because Brennan got a concussion is complete BS. Had he led with the head, or intentionally went after Brennan's head, I would see the argument, but hedidn't. It was a clean hit. No foul what-so-ever.Are you gonna blame the turf for Dennis Dixon going down? Because he wasn't even touched when he blew out his knee.

Trying to demonize the defender because Brennan got a concussion is complete BS.

I'm not trying to demonize anyone. I'm simply stating my viewpoint that huge hits shouldn't be allowed. I love it how everyone else is allowed to discuss their viewpoints and be in the right, but when I try to discuss my viewpoints, everyone gets angry with me and tells me to shut up.

It was a clean hit. No foul what-so-ever.

Yes, I'm aware. When I stated that the hit wasn't "clean", I meant that the hit wasn't necessary. I didn't mean it was illegal.

Are you gonna blame the turf for Dennis Dixon going down?

So now we have to throw Dixon into the mix? Why? I didn't see the injury, therefore I can't discuss it. Oh, but that's right, even if I had seen the injury, I couldn't discuss it anyway because obviously everyone has an issue with me discussing my viewpoints. And no, I wouldn't blame the turf. I'm aware that unavoidable injuries are part of the game. I don't feel Colt's injury was unavoidable.

seriously, big hits are part of the game. and we are beginning to baby QB's and WR's. players get injured, it happens, do i want them to get severely injured?no. but a big part of football is the hits and you cant take that away. just look at the game when it was first invented. barely any pads, if there were any at all. now i think the players should be protected in all, but the game was intended to be violent and you cant argue that.

and you cant argue that.

Actually, it's been made very clear to me that I can't argue nor discuss anything without upsetting a bunch of people and then being told, "Dude, we don't care what viewpoint you have, you're wrong, so shut it." Yet, when someone else states a viewpoint, I have to be like, "Wow, that's great!"

It's also been made clear that, regardless of who is discussing what, it's okay for someone else to randomly jump in and begin an argument with someone, insult them, and then act like it's wrong for the other person to be unhappy. I notice Mr. Hero LSUTIGERMAN has yet to offer an apology. Oh but wait, that's right, he's the hero so I'm supposed to offer an apology. Shucks, I guess I just forgot that I'm always completely wrong about everything, huh?

You can't take the "big hits" out of football. That is the stupidest suggestion I've heard in some time. You don't want big hits, go ****in play flag-football. No worries about big hits there.

I read your reply the first time...no need to repeat yourself. You're actually just wasting your time doing so because I honestly no longer care whether or not my viewpoints are popular or not. In fact, since you dislike my viewpoints so freakin' much, why not just ignore what I post? And yes, in the future, I shall exercise my right to post my thoughts regardless of their popluarity.

So, quit being such a ****ing whine-ass about this.

Swearing makes you feel important, doesn't it?

You would think someone that is supposed to be a fan of "Lineback-U" would understand this concept. Guess not.

"Supposed to be"? Don't worry, I'm a fan of PSU for sure. Still, I don't have to like the concept of big hits to be a fan of a certain team.
