In Oklahoma-speak it is "crawdads"... I am a big fan of Popeye's version with some of their spicy seasoning on them. Also I have had them occasionally at Red Lobster on a salad... I am a big fan of Cajun/Creole but I don't get it very often in Illinois, crawdad gumbo is pretty good...

I call it crawfish. And I think most other people in Florida call it crawfish. Though some of the more traditional southern people where I live might call it Crawdad.

Honestly, I hear crawdad as much as I hear crawfish. In the end, naming convention aside, this is the most important thing I usually hear in regards to these tasty critters: Boil, plastic swimming pool, free.

Well I remember from around 5th grade or something we used to go to this little park for field trips and they called them crawdads.

But the real ones call it crawfish. At least where we get ours.

Gotta suck the heads.

I've only heard people call them crawdads around here (North Carolina), but I call them crawfish since I was raised in Florida.
