Link (You'll have to scroll up to read it)

For one this has been bugging the hell out of me, and I get pissed off everytime ESPN mentioned this. This article really tells the truth about what happened (Ramsey, and Ziemba (both true freshman) were supposed to go low, and Ziemba went high, both coaches addressed this after the game, but apparently ESPN didn't pick it up) and what his family has been through since.

Absolutely lame. People really do suck. The block was skewed, big deal. Life should move on. You know, I agree with the guy who said that this whole situation was made such a big deal simply because the flawed block happened to occur to Holy Mr. Dorsey.

Thanks for the link! This is an example that many things have more than one explanation. It is real easy for the "experts" to state their opinions as facts and not worry about the consequences when they are wrong.

I don't think it was the guys intent to hurt Dorsey, all I know is what happened and that is that Dorsey got hurt on an unfortunate block that kept him out of alot of plays all season long. However, It doesn't matter if it was a mistake or not. What occured on the play was a chop block. Sorry but that's fact.

Personally, as a former D-lineman, I think any block that is designed to take out a D-linemans knees should automatically be illegal. Thats why I had to stop playing because on almost every play I would get speared in my knees and me being over 6'5 it was relatively simple for a smaller lineman to just go right after my knees. I still have trouble walking due to the abuse done on my legs and since, for some reason, it is a completely legal play. I don't understand why that isn't illegal but it is for me to just barley put my hand on the QB helmet.

On another note that article was written by a pro-Auburn writer so I don't know how unbiased the article is. I mean down here it is still recognized as a designed play to take out Dorsey. My only beef with the play is that even if it wasn't meant to be a chop block it was still designed to knock his knees out.

Umm, everyone knows it was a chop-block and everyone knows that a flag should have been thrown. But, did you seriosuly even read it?? Both guys were supposed to go low (a cut-block, which EVERY TEAM uses), it just happened that Ziemba went high on accident and the injury occurs. You should know the idea of a cut-block is to cut the lineman down to give the QB a throwing lane.

I read it yes. I stated that I knew it was an accident. Did you read what I put or just scan for anything negative that I said?

I'm just saying as a former defensive lineman icut blocks are an extremely cheap move. I know it is legal I wasn't disputing that. I was disputing that it should be illegal because of all the careers its ends. Thats what I was saying.
