Producer: Jill and Claire won't be in RE6

During Capcom Summer Jam today, a fan (@butaco3) was able to ask Resident Evil 6 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi wether Jill Valentine and or Claire Redfield would be in the game. Kobayashi, reportedly, told the fan that none of them will be in it.

Well this pretty much answers everyone's questions,are you guys disappointed with the lack of Jill/Claire?

Yea I see what you mean,guess they probably wanted to bring someone new to the series therefore have piers as Chris's partner instead of jill.I wouldn't really count the DLC in Gold edition as Jill being in the game cuz she wasn't even one of the protagonist in RE5 anyway.A true partner reunion between them would have been epic but I'm not too upset about it,I'm open for Piers also since his character looks worthy.

Claire on the other hand isn't really devoted in battling the bio terrorist attacks like how her brother or leon is,she's just a regular girl from what we seen in RE2 and Code Veronica even though Chris trained her in weapon and melee combat before the outbreaks even took place.I just don't see her to be in any real need in the series unless they do something similar to what happen in degeneration,it's not like she's in the BSAA or a special agent or something anyway.She'a huge fan favourite which is why so many fans want to see her make a return so badly

Well piers seems to be kind of neccesary. Chris turned into kind of a douche, but in the trailer piers looks like he doesnt let chris push him around and just be like "hey we're partners, ill go head and face the world with you. till the end"

Even some guy that was playing says chris has a heavy heart. His whole goal was to stop it from going viral, ever since back in the mission he just wanted to stop it then. Yet here it is, worldwide and he couldn't do a damn thing. I don't relate with chris well, i think hes a bit cocky, but even that is a monumental blow and he needs someone to get him back in the game. 

Capcom should make another survival horror game starring Claire. It would make sense for her to be in that style of gameplay as she isn't a hardcore soldier and would more likely avoid fighting if she can.

Exactly and this is how I think Piers would fit into being his partner,to give him that motivation that he lost and to keep on fighting to rid this virus once and for all.Piers seems like the partner he needs to get him back on there which is why I'm all arms for him.

I agree completely,at this point the virus is spreading worldwide so it would be the perfect chance to catch Claire offguard and put her in that same field once more just like in RE2 and degneration.
