Video Game movies as a whole are a mixed bag, many are terrible (look at the Uwe Boll films) but you do find a gem every so often, ex Mortal Kombat 1 and Tomb Raider 1. Right now the best adapation so far looks to be the upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time film, but I could be wrong.

The Resident Evil films are typical Zombie Films, although I'll give Extinction credit for trying something new with the series, that I wish would one day make it into the games: i.e. the T-Virus being spread across the planet following the nuking of Racoon City and the effects the virus had on the world outside of Racoon CityÂ
I remember watching the 2 mortal kombat movies back when they were new.

Mortal Kombat 1 Movie - decent but forgettable
Â
Mortal Kombat 2 Movie- ...................unless you want a ticket to a mental institution, I suggest you dont watch it
OMG the Mario movie was aweful! It was straight out terrible. Also I've never played Mortal Combat or the movie. And the only part of the Tomb Raider movie was like a shootout in a library or something like that.gamerfan74
I remember seeing that mario movie,i had no idea what they were thinking

I didn't like either,to me it felt like they rushed the whole thing, not that movies based on games are any good.Still hope though that afterlife delivers.
Resident Evil movies were good, I watched the punisher without knowing it was a game, Hitman was okay, didn't much like doom

But the worst piece of crap ever is afew episodes, animated of the legend of zelda...... excuse me princess, for making such a great series look like crap.

Back on topic, The only problem I see with RE films is alice being overpowered which is going to be fixed due to her losses and they do follow the games a little by bringing in characters. So its not completely void, i have seen movies much more off the mark
