It's probably one of those "back ground missions" we sort of roughly hear about during the show. Or maybe it's when people come back through the gate and are attacked etc (looking for ZPM's offworld). They were also fighting the wraith shortly after Old Weir was found so that held them up. Last reason I can think of is that Atlantis sucks and the writers haven't bothered to do **** with the story.

They probably destroyed one of those planets when McKay blew up a solar system.. :p but right now their major goal is probably hiding from the wraith.. so they have to be careful where they travel i suppose.. and i think it was 2 planets.. one where they got ambushed by the Genii in season 1.. and another when they find a dome that time goes by much faster.. it was probably powered by a ZPM
I know this doesnt have anything to do with atlantis, but what happened to that mechanical zpm O'neill made when his mind got all messed up from the anchient library thing, all it needed was a staff weapon power source, did it burn out or something?
i dont think that was a zpm, but it did allow you to travel from one galaxy to another, so really more research should have been done ton the device to figure out how it works and their are plently of staff weapons around to power that thing
