blew me away as well. i love how sga puts these moral dilemnas that we see in the real world. makes the slightly out there easier to understand. because seriously "preemptive strike" sounds very familiar. (also makes me feel bad for weir) also it sets up for a very interesting next season because they are so much worse off then they were even in the first season!!! and i love john, he can fly a city!!! can't wait until the next season!
Wow. And I thought blowing up a sun was a crazy idea.
This episode rocked! As soon as the satelite came through I knew it was trouble. I was shouting "stop talking about it, blow it up!" when it fired its crazy particle beam thingy. I remember seeing a wraith weapon very similar to this. It was in the season 1 episode "letters to Pegasus" except it didn't blow things up and was blue instead of red.
It was very enjoyable. It started off slow but quickly heated up. I think this finale is way better than "the siege" and is better than some SG-1 finales. I wonder what will happen to Dr. Weir next season :(. I remember seeing her fall back a long way and then I heard she had "sluggish eyes." Brain damage or a coma? Anyway that won't matter if McKay doesn't find a way to save the city.
I'm now eagerly awaiting the next season and hopefully an absolutely outrageous idea that'll get them out of this mess :).
yeah amazing episode, i just hope this dosent become like the star trek ds9, generation etc, where they are they are travelling through space in the city. they should find a place to settle down
This episode was really cool, that Replicator laser beam weapon was freaky lol. I hope that with what happened in SG-1 that the Dedalus and the Apollo will have the new Asgard technology installed so they can fight the Wraith and the Replicators better.

i don't think they will be able to, it would use too much energy with the shields having to be up 24/7, that and if they were constantly moving they would have to constantly recalibrate the stargate, way too much work. besides they don't have much power now. rodney was freaking out they had an hour until the shields fell
It was a great episode, I loved it. But from right until the satlight came through I just kept on thinking, why don't you do whst you allways do to get out of situations like these; blow up a big ass bomb right next to the stargate and it will 'jump' to another one. It's how they got out of the black hole one and how they solved the ori supergate problem. Great episode though, I loved the cliff-hanger!
The promo for next shows that weir is still alive but that Carter i suppose is going to either replace her for a while or atleast take charge there. It was a great episode. They should of just blown up that sat right after they saw it since they did just nuke the replicators and had to think it was a weapon. The last scene was really eriee seing the city and having it glow in the middle of space. Also im wondering about the people they left on the mainland. Teyla didnt even say a word about them lol.
I don't even know what is going on with the Athosians anyways, we haven't seen them since season 1. They are just an afterthough now. It's basically like "oh yeah we created this low-tech race of people as an excuse to bring Teyla into the storyline, and now we don't need them and no one cares about them so we will just forget about them". I know they've mentioned them a few times but they've pretty much disappeared from the show.
