Ohhh...I just found a HUGE respect for Cameron!  Jackson and the Chinese IOA representative were speaking with each other and they obviously made a joke about Mitchell, to which said "ha ha, funny" and then replied in kind, in CHINESE!  I just about died!  I love how every time you expect Cameron to have a "Jack" moment he comes from completely out in left field and surprises you like this...

That was pretty funny.  Teal'c kinda gave him a look after that too.  I also noticed that they call it the gamma site so does that mean we have several other offworld sites?  Anyways i still kinda like this episode since it kinda like going against a new kind of replicators.

It was a pretty good episode...I'm not happy with the name of the ship, though.  Odyssey sounds more like the name of a Space Shuttle.  Heck, they should have just called it Enterprise and been done with it!  Seriously, to keep the naming convention, they should have called it the Odysseus, at least that way the Greek mythology pattern would remain.  All ships have a standard naming convention, and the only beef I have is I wish these pseudo-military shows would glom on to this simple concept and actually FOLLOW IT!

Anal-retentive rant over.  Still a good episode, but I'd like to know how they got the bugs from The Mummy to cameo on SG-1.

;)

Your forgetting Homer's Odyssey.  I also liked it but once again just at the last second they are saved and im really getting tired of it.  I prefer them to figure a way out at the last second and not get beamed up.

I knew that would be your favorite part

Anyway, it was a good episode.  I liked when Colonel Mitchel spoke Chinese.  I also liked when Woolsey yelled at that French guy to shut up and let Carter work.

I hope that we see more of these bugs in the future.

Im sure we will see the bugs again and i wonder what that chinese woman meant when she was talking to daniel.  She acted like the chinese were going to get in control of the gate somehow.

Oh yeah.  I forgot about that.  That would be interesting, seeing the Chinese trying to take over the stargate program.  I just hope they don't succeed :P.

I would seriously doubt they could do it by military means since it would take atleast a couple of hours to take it out to the top and it is one of the more important US military installations.  Then theres the matter with the ships and tech we have and i dont see the chinese trying to make war with us over it.  They might try to black mail us but if that happens then the world will still never want the chinese to have it since they are communists who are also allies with N. Korea and former CCCP.

I liked it.  And yes the bugs did seem like the ones from the Mummy movies, they were still different.  It was more like a omague(sp?).  I also like Mitchels new weapon.  I don't have much to say because I was tired,(I watched the late showing.)

i agree, in fact its wasnt until after the episode that i thought about the scarabs. With regards to the omage( i dont know how to spell it either) i remeber watching an episode commentary by Peter Deluise, cant remeber which ep it was, but he was talking about a scene in that ep being an omage to something else - then he goes on to say that omage is just a nice way of saying they ripped it off. I thought that was pretty funny.

this ep was much better than what i expected.  carter took a much more commanding role and told the diplomats where they could go...in a manner of speaking.  and woolsey finally cracked.

i thought it was an allright episode, the bugs looked very similar to the bugs in the mummy and i didnt like the ending they could have found another way of escaping from them isntead of just being beamed up again at the exact time

It was a good episode, and I don't mind them "cheating" by getting beamed out.

I didnt even think of tremors but there are alot of similarities especially with the second movie.  The only difference is that they are very small and many and are not really smart.

In temor's though the graboid's could still sense them but just could get to them.  They were obviously very very sensitive since they could even  feel a single person that is up on a high voltage frame that itself would probably be constantly vibrating because of the electricity going through the lines.

that is what's great about a show set in the present day, they can make allusions to pop culture and other well-known works.

I was hoping he was going to say The Mummy.  Because that what the bugs reminded me of.

I loved the part when Mitchell was saying how the thing he likes about Teal'c is how he acts like he is not stressed out because he knows they will somehow get out of the situation and he's already thinking about what movie he wants to watch.  And then Teal'c is like "I was considering Old School" made me laugh pretty hard.  Also did anyone else notice when they were eating in the cafeteria Teal'c had like 8 corndogs.  I don't know if that was supposed to be funny but I laughed at that to.
