I was browsing EB's website, and I noticed that they no longer have a listing for the Xbox game Stargate SG-1: The Alliance. They used to have it listed for 2/1/06 for Xbox, PS2, and PC, but now they only have listings for PS2 and PC. They didn't cancel the Xbox version, did they?
Trust me, you do not want to get into a system wars with me especially when your a cube head lmao!!! Your precious RE4 that you talked soo highly about is now on PS2 and not only does it have more extra's but it also looks just as good and even better than the GC version hehe. Capcom finally decided it was losing too much money by being exclusive to GC and finally came back to it's home.
But PS2 is just a load of junk. X-box has waaaaay better games while PS2 has tonnes, and tonnes... and... t...o...n...n...e...s... of USELESS manga games.
So what if it has tons of crap games since they are usually not a problem as long as you do a little reseach and if you look at the top selling games you will see that among the top 20 about 14 are PS2. Even when a game is released for all consoles the xbox might get a .5 higher for graphics but thats about all and the xbox is actually about 3x the power of ps2 and came out a year later. The xbox 360 has impressive hardware but the launch titles are all underpar though PGR3 and NFS MW look amazing as does Perfect Dark. Madden was a huge disappointment as were some other titles (what few there were). PS2 is an awesome system (i also get alot of disc read errors but usually only when the disc is fairly well scratched) and has TONS of third party support which is something that kills the GC. Honestly im really hoping that this will be the last console for nintendo and that they go the way of sega for a developer.
Nintendo screwed themselves since they had Sony making the playstation for them but decided to throw away the cd-rom format and go with catridge again for the N-64 so Sony went ahead and now dominates the market. Also if it's graphics you want then you must not have ever played any games on a really good system because even the 360 (as in CoD2) cant compete with it's graphics.
Yeah, well what about all the people that stayed out in the cold for 15hrs to get an xbox 360 that doesnt even have it's flagship game Halo? BTW Halo 2 was not the end all be all game and alot of people even think it was worse than Halo combat evolved. Im not against the xbox but for somebody to be soo against playstation i will intensely defend it. Just wait till PS3 comes along and smashes the 360 and i cant even imagine how bad the rev is going to get it. The only thing keeping it aloft is Nintendo's first party games that are great for little kids and die hards. Besides PC's are the champ anyways since they can not only game better but are also used for EVERYTHING else including little system wars. There's only one big downside (and it's a major dousy i know) is the price to keep with the new games but it's insanely better than anything the xbox had on it.
I waited in line for the 360 for 15 hours. And Resident Evil was better on the GC. The PS2 version had more extras, but took a hit in its graphics. Plus the GC version scored 3 points higher.
Actually if you want to get technical GS scored it a 9.6 for a GC and 9.3 for the PS2. PS2 matched it on everything but tilt (whatever that is). GC: 9-10-10-9-10, PS2: 9-10-10-9-9. PS2 got a 10 on graphics just like the GC so obviously it must look pretty good to compete with such a vastly superior system that is the GC. I dont even go into the system wars board but i will defend a system that i love and someone else thinks is crap. I will say that the GC is a very good system that has quite a bit of power but FOR ME the games are extremely kiddy and mostly old school which is unappealing to me. The Xbox is much more powerful than the PS2 and as such usually does have better gfx but it's usually not tons better. The only thing keeping it up has been Halo which was a very good, well balanced, and fun shooter but i didnt think it was that supurb. PS2 has tons and tons of sequels but many are from series that i love and want to play such as GTA, MGS, Gran Turismo, Socom, Ace Combat, Devil May Cry, and others.
Stargate the Alliance is not going to come out on the xbox 360 because in thier quarterly report they stated that in a sense that since they couldn't meet the November deadline that would be before Christmas and the debut of the xbox 360 that they didn't think they could make money on it.

And to make it playable on the 360 would take more time and money. So I think the PC verison is going to be the only thing will get. Maybe if sales of the PC verison are good enough maybe there will be future games. It was just one of those things where a great game fell prey to complicated and stupid corporate problems.
perception said it was going to relase the game on all three gaming platforms and they are still trying to find a publisher and if its only going to be for the pc this is going to make it even harder to get a publisher. And gamespot does have PS2, PC and Xbox news pages for the game
All i care about is the PC version. I really hope that it comes in dvd rom since i hate putting in 4-5 disc that one dvd could do. Most of the newer games require you to have a beefy machine and most people anyways have a combo drive or multiple drives.

Kurushio you are not alone. many a times I have played PS2 and Xbox games and for the Xbox being "3x" more powerful, it isn't that much better. I am a diehard Sony fan, too.

I am in that same boat, I have a intel celeron processor that runs less than a half of a gig of memory with under 20 gigabytes of hard drive. An upgrade is not an option for me due to money limitation, so if it isn't released for the PS2 I will prolly end up at my friends house playing that game.
Im not against any system but i am FOR sony. The Xbox is a fine system that has some good looking games and the cube is an excellent system for most little kids and die hard nintendo fans but the PC still pretty much owns all especially in the graphics department. I also used to have a Celeron. It was a 833Mhz with 256mb of pc2700 ram and a 20gig hd that had some sort of virus that ate up my hd (not files but all free space) and i had 0 bytes free for awhile. Then i got a dell which isnt bad just in March but since it doesnt have an AGP or PCI express slot im just going to build a whole new comp and sell my dell for 300.
So, i take it then that alliance is going to be a 1st person shooter. Does anyone know if that's right and if so is there an option to play 3rd person?
Wouldn't be great if they just came out with a ton of games (alot like Star Wars has) that embodies each part of the stargate universe. Maybe a RTS with just the goa'ulds trying to defeat each other or maybe include us but it wouldnt be quite as true then with us building a bunch of ships.
