SG1, Atlantis & a potential new series?

Ok, so I think we are all in hopefull agreance that SG1 will continue, but probably on another network, and eventually as movies.

How long do you think Sci-Fi will keep SG Atlantis? I think they will want that around for a long time, and pair it up with a new SG series as they have talked about. I think that Sci-Fi dropping SG1 is confirmation that they are planning a new SG series. What do you think? Am I way off on my hopes?

I think a new series right now would be kind of pointless.  They already have SG-1 based on earth, and Atlantis in another galaxy.  They don't need to have another show.  All I can really think of is if they did another Atlantis type show in another galaxy, but I personally think it would be dumb to have shows that take place in other galaxy and not even having SG-1.

I agree, I'm so upset that SG-1 is being dropped, but I am holding out hope it will continue virtually unchanged on another network. I think maybe they feel three shows that would be so similar may be to much, and that the story/actors & everything are getting old, but thats just retarded. I think SG-1 will get bigger from here if they get a good network, and eventually some blockbuster movies. My opinion is they want Battle Star Galactica to take over as the most popular show on the network.

Maybe they will just drop the SG1 name and turn into command like they wanted to do or something.

Maybe if another network picks up the show, they might want to move it to LA. That what the X-Files did, they moved from Vancover to LA. And since RDA lives in LA maybe he would have a bigger roll in the show.

I totally agree. I for one haven't missed Jack. Maybe I would if they made him leave, but since he wanted to leave, I haven't missed him.

If they moved to LA it would probably increase the amount of money they have to spend by quite a bit and im not sure how much area around LA would be suitable to shoot the gates at.  I dont think we would want them to be on an alien planet and see a 747 flying through the sky lol.  Also that they would have to move atlantis there too most likely and i dont think it would be that good of an idea to justify the cost and hassle even for RDA.
