The title pretty much speaks for itself. If you could have the singing voice of a musician from any genre, who would it be? It's a pretty tough call for me, I have a few different picks.
Maynard James Keenan (Tool/A Perfect Circle): One of the things that makes Maynard such a good singer is that he can sing at several different dynamic levels. He has a light, gentle voice when he sings quitely (like the beginning of Opiate), but when he gets loud, he can hold a scream for quite a while (towards the end of that same song).
Layne Staley (Alice In Chains): For pretty much the same reasons as Maynard Keenan. He has a great harmonic voice when he sings more quitely, but his voice can get pretty powerful when he sings loudly.
Ian Gillan (Deep Purple/Black Sabbath): Gillan has one of the biggest vocal ranges in rock from what I've heard; He can sing at a fairly low pitch but can also go brutally high with his voice in some songs (listen to Child In Time).
How about you guys?
