Was wondering if you had ever been or currently are part of a band? If so, what did you play, what were you named? What is your experience with it?

While I play the electroacoustic, without distortion, at church, we aren't really a band, though we'd like to be one. Currently we formed a band at the tech institute, and we'll be playing covers for now, starting with "Nothing Else Matters". No direct name, though we joked about a combination of puns from the two major terms that came after the political coup over here in '09. I'm the second guitarist, playing an electric one.

So, what about you?

Never been in one actually, my interest in music is just listening to it.

I was in a band that had a smallish following in and around Camden London. They went through several names and contacted me to join them... they were called Those Velvet Lips while I was with them. This was 10 years ago. I played and still do play drums but I'm a guitarist first and foremost.

After a year or so I had to give it up due to having financial responsibilities that had to come first. Fun while it lasted but I made a good move since they all moved away from music eventually and the band never left the bar scene around London.

Now I'm working in the marketing side of music industry.

I do a solo thing, nothing more than rough demos so far as I'm lacking the funds for a decent studio. Check the Soundcloud link in my signature if you're curious.

I was in a couple of bands in my teen years. I was the singer (if indeed it could be called singing). The first band was one that I had joined well after it had started. It had the quite stupid name of High Voltage (yeah, I guess it seemed cool in 1992, I pushed for a name change, but that never happened). We pretty much just did covers of popular metal songs of the day and never got beyond our rehearsal space in the lead guitarist's house. After High Voltage split up the rhythm guitarist (who happened to be my brother-in-law) started a different group he named Capt. Tripps. Once again I was recruited as vocalist. Tripps veered more towards a punk style and actually attempted original material. I ended up quitting and the band never made it out of the garage he used for a rehearsal space. That was pretty much it for me. In the early 2000s me and a guitarist friend of mine tried getting a band together, but we came to realize that most people in the area we were in would rather talk about being in a band then actually do any works towards it. These days I fiddle around with ambient music, but that's pretty much for my own enjoyment. Not sure that I'll ever try to market it, though maybe one day I'll just put a bunch of the sh*t up on torrent sites.

More than being in a band?... No, but I don't hate my current role.

I'm in my youth group's worship band, alternating between the acoustic and the bongos.
