What kind of music do you like that no one will ever sway you away from?

What kind of music do you like that no one will ever sway you away from no matter what they say about it?

For me it's rap music.  No matter how many people say it's stupid, or the lame, 'you can't spell Crap without cRap' mess, will never stop me from enjoying it at all. 

You haven't encountered anyone who's told you your music was stupid and you are dumb for listening to it?  Or someone going out of their way to try to change your mind on it?

I encounter that a lot, especially with the rap music thing.

Oh I have quite a few times, more back in school than anywhere else. But it's not for them to decide what I listen to.

That said, the ones I got most criticism from were the ones who'd stop listening to something as soon as other things were in fashion, I think that says enough...

60's rock, like The Beatles and The Kinks. Also Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan style rock

Well lost of people tell me KoRn sucks and it's this and that blabla. I always love em though.

And most kids ere don't listen to metal, kids in my class already got to the point where they called me goth for listening to metal, just so you see how ignorant they are.

As I said, if you enjoy it, why not listen to it?rocketfox129

I'm always getting told that my music sucks, but that's by people who typically listen to pop rock bands, and whatever else all the "cool" kids are listening to. I don't let them get to me, and I just keep listening to what I like

Well same as duder i get that opinion some time. Why do u listen to metal it sucks its just loud music :o . Yea right listening to pop always can break their mind :P

Thats right  they keep telling me that metal sucks or its stupidity but i dont get upset for that, first cuz i dont care and second none has the guts torag me about that ;)

I laugh in people faces when they try to tell me my music is garbage.

All kinds of english songs....

In my country (their main languange is not english) so when people know that I heard english songs they just laugh at me...:(

Most times people are like "They're not even saying anything! They're just screaming!" or "They just smash drums randomly and you call it music"

Yeah, and most talk trash about our music saying the most ignorant things they could ever say.

I find people who say that various artists arent 'real artists' annoying and yet at the same time slightly amusing

The fact being there's no right or wrong way to make music, no matter what is made some will like it some wont. Those people dont stop to think that their favoured music got, and still does get the same attention as they give others music now.

I like all kinds of music but the one I always get crap for is....

Ska. I love first wave stuff from Jamaica and the second wave from England and I always got crap for it because of how happy it sounds but I don't care ska rules. Also got crap for liking Funk (which I've loved since I was a kid) and a loooot of crap for liking Christian rock and pop bands...but I don't care, I like what I like and if you don't like it, too bad :P.

the majority of people do not fully understand and respect music.

My friend sent that to me a few years back and he thought it was funny.  I didn't.  There is one where Trivium gets urine thrown at them too.

Why go see a band you hate?

Jazz. It's the one genre, with the slight exception of Blues, that I am certain  I will never sway from because it's the sort of music that completes me, in a matter of speech. It fills me with a wide array of emotions that range from happiness, nostalgia, sadness, anguish and such others.

For me, it's The Genre.
