This is a modified bit of copypasta with extra tidbits
God of War
Poseidon's Rage. It is the Ultimate in spammable crowd control with huge damage, lots of hits and invincibility throughout. It also allows a few exploits of note.
Medusa's Head was less useful as a petrification spell in GoW1 since GR was terrible and it wasn't strong enough for its casting cost. Stare and Flash could be combined and it was usable for exploits here and there so it wasn't bad at all. Just not great. Having extra benefits for crushing/ruining foes helped net lots of EXP.
Army of Hades is like a lazy man's PR. It did the work for you. Once at lvl3, it was over for whoever you were whoring it against. If we had Bonus Play, perhaps this would be the spell I liked best because it can also team with Artemis *and even other spells for different ends* for a "Punt" while also totally destroying EVERYTHING. I saw Pandora's Guardian get destroyed by it by a user with hacks. This spells says, "To hell with shields!" and goes around them.
Zeus' Fury..I've been warming up to this spell. Its typical bolts are quite efficient at lvl1 but at lvl3, they are HIGHLY efficient. TB should have had this ability as well..perhaps NOT this efficient..but it shouldn't have remained unaltered as it leveled either. The "Stun" bolts aren't that impressive. Level 3 "Charge" is quite efficient and best of all, it has the 'over-charge' ability that TB's "Wind Blast" has..so if I have enough for a single bolt...I can use the Charged one instead. It is the only spell that can take Ares' out of the air during his fireball toss and helps with Artemis' Tricking/Canceling..this goes a LONG way to help establish it as something more then long ranged crap that ALSO required you to be stationary for usage. (air usage can be used fairly well I find)
God of War II
I'd choose Typhon's Bane just becuase of the versatility. It can do A LOT. Tricking, Canceling, specials with lots of interesting properties, efficient cost/damage ratio in general, etc.
Drawing the bow is an invincibility frame.
Wind Shot is very efficient when compared to other lvl1 spells and it's mobile. Too bad it didn't get any stronger or cost any less as it leveled like Zf..then it would have been obvious to others that Typhon's Bane was great
Lethal Vortex wasn't a great spell for efficiency really. Sure you could hit an entire line of foes and launch them in-air, but doing that without wasting MP would be better. Using it for an efficient auto-break on a row of tough to shatter, petrified foes..that's more like it. The launch it has really isn't that great. Though the effect pushes Perseus Stage 3 back fairly well if I recall. The point of firing it is an invincibility frame
Wind Blast you can understand for certain...being able to fire it with just 4MP left in place of the 25MP cost is great. Netting unnatural extra hits is even better. Using it to gauge damage values made it price less. It can't target statues let alone auto-break sadly, but against certain foes it is devastating (Ex: BK stage 1, Theseus Stage 2, Mounted Cyclops Berserkers) The animation just after firing it is an invincibility frame
Titan Storm isn't very efficient for 1-on-1 usage period, but even then it can be used to great effect. (Ex: Kraken speedrunning). It only deals 50 damage to a crowd but when used on a foe with about 50HP, it is a FAST way to clear the area while being invincible throughout most of the process. It even lingers briefly. It is probably the Ultimate way to pwn petrified foes though a Lethal Vortex could do the job in a hurry..you need to properly line-up your foes then aim the shot in that case. Granted you aren't likley going to catch a petrified Gorgon Queen with it.....leave that to the faster auto-break. The whole of the 'firing at the ground' part until he fires it is an invincibility frame
Though I have appreciation for the other spells..none have the versatility of TB. Plus it was at its trial that I located Regenerating Magic.
PR is again, a good spell but requires Urn usage. It isn't as powerful or spammable in this outing. While screwing around with this spell, I ran into the High Jump.
Cronos Rage is great for crowd control. The most efficient lvl1 spell for multiple targets and obviously the best at pinning down/suspending a foe as you handle other affairs. It also helps that the casting is a suprisingly large invincibility frame. At lvl3 it has rediculous range and power. The explosion causing knockbacks...though it COULD kill you should you get petrified.
Atlas Quake leaves you invincible throughout as PR does. I prefer to use it without the mashing. Even then, at lvl1 and rarely. It doesn't suit me..I can use other spells/weapons to better effect often enough. The one time I really liked using it was for a GK:TM strat at the Atlas Lift where afterwards you would get a refill in MP. At lvl3 I saw it was quite devastating when you have the proper Urn to allow back to back usage of it...but that's just not enough.
Euryale's Head is GREAT for a lot of reasons. None of those being Gorgon Blast....Gorgon Stare is better then ever, Gorgon Flash is just as good as it's ever been and now Gorgon Rage is freaking sweet rather then crap. It can trick/cancel as well which helps. Clearly it doesn't help with bosses, but for the Translator, Endurance Run and speedrunning in general, it is a major contender. As before, using it for crushing/ruining foes was good for gathering EXP quickly.
Chains of Olympus
I haven't had a lot of time with it so I can't be sure..
I'll go with Charon's Wrath though. Even at lvl1 it is the best 1-on-1 spell for efficiency. IF used well in groups it can be great for control and dealing group damage. At lvl3 it appears to be rediculously good by values. It will be a focus of the God run I have coming up along with the Guantlet. It's spread intrigues me..it also auto-destroys Armor while dealing damage which is hot.
Efreet is seen as a sort of cross between AQ and PR in effect. It doesn't cause knockbacks like AQ nor have inaccurate debre as an extra. It has an area of effect like PR but does NOT increase when mashing. You need to get foes in that circle..even then..foes can be stunned out of it so you need to trap creatures like the Minotaur against a wall for best results. It breaks shield well enough. lvl1 isn't very efficient and only hits once. I know that it does 20 for 20 but I know it also can hit once more (physical)..I don't know alot about that though. I used this primarily in the Challenges and Hero run. I didn't like it a whole lot aside from the fiery deaths extra it has..sort of wish it had a unique descriptor granting a few extra EXP orbs for 10+ hits ending with kills using it. It offers invincibility that I've yet to see available elsewhere..though I've seen frames that don't let Kratos get 'hit' while taking the damage commonly.
Light of Dawn feels like total trash right now. It is said to pause the combo meter while out which is cute, but I've seen no hint of 'tricking' just yet...not even canceling though I haven't tried for that. It is like Zeus' fury but far less efficient, weaker and slower. It breaks shield when charged but I cannot recall if a base shot will break Hoplite Shields...I'll need to give it a fair look over eventually but it isn't looking good for that spell right now. >_>
